I think we should have limited population as it is related to the resorces and distance of the realm

I think there is a limit. After you upgrade a town you can have more. Since you recruit soldiers from population you woun't have to worry about reaching the limit for a while especially if you have alot of battles. I am not sure this is right i am just gessing here.

will it be like LOTR2 were you take peasant ou of pop and train em to be soldiers? and will this affect economy badly or just slightly?

Guys, here (http://forum.sunflowers.de/showthread.php?s=&threadid=25&highlight=population+limit) is a thread about population limits.

I'm too lazy to read it all. As I remember, there is population limit for realms, but different in each realm. Not like in AoK where you can't reach more than x people in your kingdom.

Then I guess number of population influences economy (need somebody to work) and also recruiting soldiers, of course...

I've found a few threads where Frank explains this issue

Threads:

Manpower & recruiting (http://forum.sunflowers.de/showthread.php?s=&postid=5633&highlight=Population+limit#post5633)

List of questions we need answered (http://forum.sunflowers.de/showthread.php?s=&postid=1291&highlight=Population+limit#post1291)

a few questions (http://forum.sunflowers.de/showthread.php?s=&postid=6095&highlight=Population+limit#post6095)

or if ya don't wanna go there - here is a short summarize ;)

Frujin:The soldiers are taken from the population ...
Frank Fay: Yes there is a limit but we do not seperate female and kids. Population is just population.
Frank Fay: There is a population limit for each Realm. Makes no sense to post the number here as you got to understand how the economy will work. There will be a specific economy feature story soon, where we will reveal population management.

Q: Armies are made out of your population, is their a limmit in how many units/armies you can create out of your pop?
Frank Fay: Yes, it depends on how many population you have. No pop = no new army.

Q: Does your population grow, and if so, how fast?
Frank Fay: Yes but only to a specific limit. Speed depend on several factors, e.g. a skill of a Knight in a realm can speed it up.

Q: Are their any other reasons your pop may be dropping outside recruuting them for your army?
Frank Fay:Yes, for instance got killed in battle, left to join rebels etc.

I'll hope these help to clearify thing a little :)

Thanks, Henrik :)

So, I have a question for Frank and Frujin. We know that our army can reach more than 1000 men, but on screenshots (http://www.knights-of-honor.net//english/screenshot.php?screenshot=0091&all=0093|0092|0091|0090|0089|0088|0087|0086|0085) it looks like population of one realm will be no more than 20.

How can our arme be that numerous?
When we recruit 5 soldiers from 15 "peasants" can we wait till realm population reach 15 again and then recruit them again? Oh, if you can reveal it yet :silly: of course

Most of the people will be inside the town, don't you think?

I'm not sure i understand excactly what you mean Elewyn

If the guys on the screenshot indicate that you can draft 3 units of soldiers then if all the "slots" where filled you would be able to draft 15x20=300 men this also means that you would have to wait for one slot to get filled 20 times in order to get a 1.000 men.

But as i said i'm not quite sure what you mean and don't know if i'm right either

I'm sorry, it was written badly. But I'm not sure if I'm able to explain it right.

The point is more like this:
If we recruit some soldiers from realm population, will the number of realm-population disgrese? I guess that yes.(You have 12 figures before, 11 after recruiting)

But the main question is, how many soldiers can we recruit from "one man from populaton"(one figure)? One soldier or one squard?

If it's again ununderstandable I'm sorry

Hi Elewyn

I think that one "man" represent one squad, coz if you look at other screenshots you'll see that on these there are only three men shown and i'm quite confident that this means that these town are only able to supply you with a maximum of three squads

What do you think ?

Yes, Henrik is right. One happy villager (icon) can be trained into one squad. But the villager is only meant iconic and does not represent one 'real' villager.

Thanks!!

A squad of 25 men I suppose.

Do we have any limits of suqads? f.e. you can't have more than 100men in one squad.

The number of units in squad may vary also it is not fixed yet, due to the fact that it is a matter of balance. A max number does also not exist atm.
