In the moment i look for a possible that the AI become more Gold than the Player.

I change the taxes. Look the picture.

Hardcoded is, that in the beginning of Koh all kingdoms use normaly taxes. Now i remove for the Player the normaly taxes point , so the player cant use the normaly taxes point after he change to the no taxes point. I make the tyranical taxes point for normaly taxes point. For renember: The AI never change the normaly taxes point and never use the wartaxes point.

I can give now for the AI 6 gold per 10 people of taxes and the player become only 2 gold for 10 people of taxes.

After this new Income/Outcome view the Player must used the waxtaxes often..

this is only a idea from me..What do you think about this idea..

I love this idea.

I got rid of merchants for the player in my mod to give the AI a huge income advantage. Any ideas in getting the AI "buffed" and the player "nurfed" is very helpful.

It's actually a great idea, Laudan! I might implement it too. May be one of the best options to reduce the AI's disadvantage with respect to the player regarding cleverness.

Hey Doge, you're checking the forums again too? Good to see!

You know - it might be one of the best ideas ever to give the AI an advantage without having to follow your "own rules". My compliments again, Laudan, your modding has helped KoH and this forum and its other (modding) members a great step forward!

Same here.

For several months I did not look at these forums. A short cooling off period. Coming back here I realize the only support this game will get is by modders like you guys.

I have not played the game since December/January. But I am still looking for more ideas to make my mod more difficult. If I ever get to the point where I lose playing my mod (without throwing thousands of spawning rebels at me in KoH), I'll release my mod. I doubt that will happen  . Until then I really don't see any point in sending it out. I love to read your mods for great ideas. Since my mod contains many of your great ideas... it is pretty redundant.

The main difference between my mod and other mods is my mod turned into a constant war like AoE/C&C with so many battles going on all the time. Against most kingdoms, I need 4-6 armies when I am at war or else I will have to negotiate peace. It is more fun than Vanilla, but I still always know I will win in the long run. I have the 'military tick' set at 600. The 'military tick' is normally set in the thousands. I don't know what exactly it means. I am pretty sure it means the AI will attack me (and other kingdoms) more often during wartime. Which is one way I make my mod more difficult, along with several other ideas (no merchants for the player), plus all of your [plural] modding ideas - making the AI kingdoms last longer, seek more allies, new tech tree, new units/buildings.

Laudan mentioned "cheating" and I'll add this "cheat" to the discussion... There is a cheat for KoH where you can switch kingdoms during the game.

After a while when many kingdoms are strong and powerful, I switched kingdoms to a one province weak kingdom to make it more difficult. This is something you may want to do for an old saved game. I am not saying this is "the fix" to make the game much harder, but it is variant that can start you out as a weak kingdom surrounded by large powerful kingdoms that are not friendly towards you.

I believe the cheat goes like this:

(1) Click on whatever kingdom you want to become (the same way you would ask a kingdom for peace/trade/etc)

(2) During game play press ENTER and type the code: bsswitch

--> Now you are that kingdom.

*Just don't switch sides to the Papacy, it crashes to desktop after several seconds.*

Militairy tick defines the time that goes between the decisions of the militairy AI. If you set this too low, like 700, the AI might become "decisionless" because he keeps making a new, different, decision. I think Angryminer wrote about that somwhere. However, the current value used in HR/GoG should be optimal.

By the way, the bsswitch works with me for the papacy too. Just let time run for some time before you switch.
