As the 1701 board is now integrated here, I remembered that there are some issues I would like to have improved here...
First of all: the smilies. This is the only board I know where I have to type a smilies code (e.g. :smile or :wink instead of the usual :) or ;) - I hope this could be amended.
The New Posts (http://forum.sunflowers.de/search.php?do=getnew) link: I hardly used it up to now, but in other (relatively small) boards, it is very nice, as you see all new postings at one side.

I'd like to have an option to choose which parts of the board are included into the New Posts list and which not - I do not play KoH, I will hardly play Paraworld, and I don't participate in the board games - so I'd like to have those posts ignored. Is that possible?
A slightly bigger font size. Maybe I am getting old, but the fonts are too small in normal view - and a bit too big in bigger view. And BTW - switching to bigger view is not that comfortable in IE as you cannot us a shortcut like in Firefox (there, you can use Ctrl+"+" to increase the font size).
A default "Preview post" button which has the same size as the "Post reply" button. I'd find it much better to be directed to a preview than to post and edit afterwards. But... that's of course my personal opinion and feeling, and maybe others would find that rather disturbing.
A spoiler tag. OK, I am not sure if this is really necessary, and I think Anno can live without that, but I believe it to be a nice feature. I saw it at the Egosoft board; the spoiler tag displays fonts in the background color so that you can read a posting without seeing the (posted) solution of a puzzle - until you select the text within the spoiler tag with the mouse.
A feature which I would call "wiki post": Everyone can edit an (initial) posting; the edit track is listed at the end of the post (and can be edited by the thread starter or an moderator). I do not know if there is a board (or board software option) which provides this functionality, but I think that could be a nice feature, especially for sticky threads, FAQ's etc.

1. smilies
there is a box right side of the input field by using the post reply button.
they are not on the quick reply, yes

2. new posts
they are in general. you can subscribe to threads you are intrested in. in the user cp you see them like the new posts view

3. fonts
hmmm. thats personal taste, i guess?

4. preview button
you have with post reply

1. - I know about the smileys box, but I think most people type their smilies, at least the most popular ones like :) ;) :D - an indicator for that are the typing errors which occur from time to time.

2. - The thread subscription is a feature I never understood. OK, I get a long list of subscribed threads, but that does not help me for new ones or threads I never posted in. I guess the new posts page will be very long if Paraworld and 1701 are released, so I thought it might be more user friendly if the listed posts could show the boards I prefer only.

3. - Yes. But I have also read that for some other users, the font size seems to be at least smaller than before.

4. - Sure, but is it possible to make it the default button (like the "Reply" button below the quick reply box)?

QE... QR... What is that?

Concerning the plugin - unfortunately, I cannot see the screenshots as I am not a member of that board. But if you say that might be a solution... go ahead - when you find time to do that. :go: :)

What I really would appreciate is, that you need not to hit the quick reply button before the QR-Fiel is activated....that was not neccessarry befor the borad changed and now it is very disturbing as I often forgot ist and type an answer by clicking on the field..:

I second this! It's really anoying to have to scroll through dozends of posts of no interest to find what i'm looking for. Thanks...

QR wasn't a feature in vB 3.0.x ... now it's nessary to prevent SPAM and let the system get the right qoutes. maybe we can make a poll on this topic?

I like the QR as it now is. As stated it helps vs. Spam and in the threaded mode it's better. The *new* (current) way it works annoyed me at first, but now I've become used to replying to the last post if unsure, or replying to the post I am actually replying to (what a clear story I'm writing ).
So, concluding, I like it as it now is.

:go: Great, thanks a bunch! That really simplifies using the board a lot. Next time we meet i'll spend you an extra portion of Currywurst & Pommes

What annoys me is the fact, that I canīt use the "go advance"-button before I activate the QR field..so if I really want to use the advance answer modus I first have to activate the QR field..that doesnīt make sense, does it?

Sure, but... why don't you use this button below the last post to switch to extended mode: http://forum.sunflowers.de/images/themes/sunflowers/buttons/reply.gif

because I always did it the other way before things changed...and getting used to new things  well...never mind, you are right  Warum einfach, wenns auch kompliziert geht :Go:
