I personaly have spent many ideas on the game's possible patch or any other development.

That goes - I believe - also for other reasonable suggestions of those who play the game for long time and think about how to improve it.

The minimized version of my suggestions is already posted here (http://forum.sunflowers.de/showthread.php?t=7823), so I believe it won't last long.

I just want to know how the things are going before I leave to Israel...
and hope that once I return the patch will be very close.

But it's just a hope.
First we need to see BSS agreement. I hope the contract was written well also for them :go:

PS: from my suggestions, I see those 5 as crucial, especialy the bad boy(working only for player!!) and improvement of the AI.

I would really like it if the AI could actually use siege weapons and know how to attack a city with walls, and how to defend it. As it is they have no idea how to act in those situations and always lose.

So, there is finally some progress with this patch! That's very good news indeed! Cheers for the good outcome of these negotiations, good both for the game (and its players) and for the companies!

P.S. Btw, if a second patch is made, could a Bulgarian localization be also made, maybe as a part of it? I've already translated nearly all texts of the game, only without the "diplomacy" folder (the biggest one), and it would need only some minor corrections plus fixing several gramatic and other problems with the game.

I am very glad to hear this news.

All the discussions in the forums about sunflowers & paradox
completely *abandoned* the game KOH & its customers
had me worried as I just purchased the game off of target.om
because I loved the demo so much.

I cant wait for the patch & hope the signature goes threw SOON.

I want the new Knight and Guard unit!

also, I have an off topic question that maybe someone
can answer for me.. I am a game Moderator & 3D Artist
and I am wondering how you made those units.

is this all mostly 2D .ani artwork?
because the KOH game reminds me of another called
Lords Of the Realm II with its very similar army battles.

I wish I had permission to disect this game *decompilation*
to figure out how this is all done but it's not Open Source
or legal to do so. :(

guess I will have to just focus on how the moderation aspects..
scripting, build code, tags etc.. work is done.

I want a black knight unit!!

cheers.

I may be understanding you wrong but your reply to him seems to be rather rude and not in your nature, angryminer.

If you read the thread thoroughly, you would know that no one yet knows when!

Assuming that the contract will be signed for the second patch I was wondering what kind of agreement that is? Do the technical people actually making any patch have guidelines already set for the things they will and will not be patching before the contract is agreed upon? In other words does it matter at this point what we would like to see in a new patch.
A second question is, are the testers for any second patch already determined? If not I think it would be great if some of the senior modders and other active members of the KOH community, that are willing, were allowed to test out the patch before it is released to the rest of us.

Just my 2 cents

It has been stated the patch will be made using a list already compiled from users, by Angryminer.

Looks like I'm going to have to find and dust off this game after what seems like a year or more of not playing it.

Thats according to Angryminer, who I don't think works for sunflowers so is no authority and whose statements should not be deemed official.

That's right kevincompton.
Also, my list is just a basis. I myself have no clue what ideas they took from it and actually included and which features they dropped. My list was just the spark to create a second patch and the features I listed are just a basis to choose the features for the patch.

That is actually the reason why I never released my patch-concept. It simply gives no idea of how the patch might look like and can only cause confusion, frustration or disappointment, if anything.

Oh, and I just found the little confusion about this:And about the topic:
So what? That was aimed at the patch. I was asking myself what was happening about the patch. Wether the agreement was signed or not, etc.

Oh sorry then,

This may be a little off topic but I just have to ask..
Is it just me..

Or is the 98% or so of the koh community/customers royaly *pissed off* about the fact that the developers of black sea studios/sunflowers have:

1) Made a great game with NO way of contacting official reps on the
so called "official" forums.

2) Black Sea Studios/Sunflowers show slim to none interest in their customers and those who supply food on their tables.

3) Make a game that crashes *repeatedly* and release it to the public labled
*ready* to purchase.

4) NO Support..it seems.. WHAT SO EVER! and only on their *own* terms
without any form of feedback from their own customers.

Wich explains all these unhappy campers & unsatisfied people in their forums.

pathetic.. & this will be the absolute last time I buy anything labeled sunflowers/black sea studios PERIOD :!:
.. even If I love the game KOH & 1602 ad..

They need to work on their people skills and start careing about the people
who support their efforts rather then just seen as a doller bill.

BSS had a forum but it was hacked earlier this year. They did answer some questions even if that board was relatively quiet.

2) Black Sea Studios/Sunflowers show slim to none interest in their customers and those who supply food on their tables.

Frujin said a couple of times that they wanted to make a patch

I've played the game since the beginning and haven't experienced a single crash (2 computers)

4) NO Support..it seems.. WHAT SO EVER! and only on their *own* terms

There was a deal for one patch with Sunflowers, which they did, now we have to hope that they sign this new deal an produce a 2d patch.
