I too voted for the Book and feathered pen - mainly because the scroll is already a part of the interface.

IMHO - a good symbol could also have been a wooden chest.

Maybe because some people don't think the way you do? The entire game takes place on a computer using 2d graphics- for some of us the suspension of disbelief doesn't occur so easily especially if in the game your actions are limited by the fact that it's a computer and you have to find "buttons" to push in order to do things. "Buttons" don't fit in a medieval setting at all either- in fact in the middle ages I think buttons were a very rare control device at all! :rolleyes:
