In the trailer for Anno 1701 the ships look like they travel as fast as speedboats, is the game like this or can the game be slowed down to make sailing more realistic?

LOL i wish they did have bloody speedboats , nah im kidding , but then again eh i prefer the good old fashion sail , yeah but away will there be the same types or ships has anno 1503 or anno 1602 . a trading ship , middle class war ship , and of couse the higher classed ship , i think they should atleast put the cannon back on the smaller ships . unlike anno 1503 where they had no cannon so i could take out atleast one ship at the start at the game like anno 1602 , lol thats was the days , anyway the point is im looking forword to playing this game

I always use F7 when in search for an Island, maybe some devs agree with me (they would be really stupid if they agree tho, c'mon agree with me :scratch: )

Yeah, it looks like speedboats. It reminded me back to my childhood with all those playtoys in bathroom. ^^

I tried every move with my ship... It feels like flying over sea... ^^

For gameplay sake, in the demo, they travel way to fast. You can sail across the entire demo map very quickly. Not gives very strategic gameplay.

I remember how I had to worry about travel time to get goods from another island. Now that ship move at 100 knots, it is not much matter.

what ship were you using? even my warships move slowly... except when time is speeded up. Takes ages to send a fleet to attack pirate island.

Yeah ships aren't too fast, imo they're slow, because in MP you can't speed up

Yes, I see it is a small demo map. I never thought about that. Good point.

I suppose the bigger warships and large trade ships may sail slower.

The ship I have in the demo is a scout ship and probably is the fastest ship in the game.

Well I find from the demo, that the ship is fast enuff, not haveing the full game till 3rd of November and being that the map from the demo is a small one, it seems ok.



Haveing played anno 1503 for what seems a life time, the ships seem to move faster in the 3D 1701 game(demo).:scratch:

Waiting on the full game(3rd November), so will not make any other comments till then.:biggrin:
