It looks pretty good but i've seen so many different movies and shows about the trojan war that its not as exciting to me as if it were a less popular story.
I think this movie is going to be great! I first watched the trailer in the cinema when i watched the Matrix 3. And when I saw the scene with the sea swarming with ships I was like :beek: . Then I thought I have this movie home and when I came home I played it. It wasn't "Troy", it was "Helen of Troy" - a funny movie. Especially when I heard that the real reason for the trojan war is that Troy has a monopoly in the trade with... Byzantium. btw it's fun - in "Helen" John R. Davis played as Priam and in "Troy" - Orlando Bloom (Gimly and Legolas from LOTR).
*hehe* Brad Pitt :D
Arrogant, rebellious and seemingly invincible, Achilles has no allegiance to anyone or anything, save his own glory.
it's like i see him in real life
i don't like that guy

Wolfgang Petersen is a good director, there is hope!
Okay the scene with the incredible number of ships is very hollywood'ish...very unrealistic...
Not to be offending Frank, but have you ever read Homer's story? He says there were over 100.000 men in the army. Ofcause that would have to inclued a huge amount of ships.... there for I think quite realistic.

History from that time is more than inaccurate.
The best history-report is always the most inaccurate.
(Fun over accuracy, hm?)

But was Homer a historian? I mean one who wrote truth?
And when you look at these ships...doenst it look too much ?
I dont want to complain about fun vs. accuracy... but for my taste it is too much... But was only an example, I hope only that it will be enteraining...
It looks Great! I don't care if it's not historically accurate (as long as there is no Byzantium in it).
Brad Pitt in Troy?
But I'll go to this movie as soon as it comes to my city!

The problem with Troy and every other movie is that Hollywood controls the movie landscape. Most movies have an obvious corny love scene, and almost every movie has the same typical cliche's as other movies. For instance Independance Day was on the other day. We all know they're going to attack, kill millions of people, then when it looks bad for the good guys, someone makes a speech that rallies them to victory.
sorry but i realy think the movie is low grade :( I find Orlando very apoling and all ther scenes with the ships **** ***...
dont mean to be a critic...
