Man it's crazy in there now- with a lot of ranting and swearing and cussing going on.

Sad state of affairs, I think this bodes ill for the future of Impressions.

i think that cant happen to KoH. they asking us so much what we want and try to make the game that most of us will like it.
so i cant understand such producers who are doing something and then just hope the game get sold.
but i think its not fair from the customers to complain in a bad way about the game, no one forces them to buy it.
its something else if there are errors that are not anounced or not known. but you can inform yourself about the gameplay and the features.

You're really raising two issues here Bora:

1. Certain companies lack to comply with customer wishes, i.e. I could see this problem that companies has by complying with their potential custorms wishes to features in the games they develop.....IF, we have like 15 years back in time when you would have to either call or snail mail the companies, but today where "everybody" has a web connection or at least has somewhat easy access to one, then there is absolutly no reasons to why the companies shouldn't listen to their potential customers. Most gamesites has a forum attached theses days ( like the one we're using now ) and i can't see why the companies don't just make game like the way their customers want'em to be - i.e. the game would praticaly sell themselves, this would save the companies huge pile of money due to the lesser need for massive advertising. I have claimed before inhere that the reason why the gamedevelopers don't make games like we want'em to be are because they are arrogant, but Frank has replied to the post that: Before you get funding for a game, you need a design. You get funds because the publisher likes your design, so you have stick to it. - you can read it here (http://forum.sunflowers.de/showthread.php?s=&postid=15706&highlight=arrogance#post15706)

2. The matureness, or should we say the lack of it, among a company's customers.
I don't know how old the average customer is who buys computergames these days, but i'll estimate that it probably lies around 16 - 18 years, this also means that to get this low average there must be some of the customer who are.....errrmmm...not so old and to be honest i think that these are the ones who do the largest part of the whinning and complaining they just seem to be a large part of the customer, but i'll guess it has something to do with we always tend to notice critisism a whole lot more than the positive stuff - but i'll admit that there is infact lot of complains made by immature minors.

Just my 0.02 cents

my opinion is that there are more and more games on the market today but lot of them are not really worth it to buy. there are lot of games where the creativity and innovation is almost zero and some games are just clones from other ones.
one of the best ever games is "the settllers" from bluebyte in my eyes. or the first ego shooters or adventure games,... every one of them brought something new,...
so i miss a bit creativity and innovation today.
fazit: a game must be more then just look awsome.

by the way,... 2004 looks like a nice year for computer games, just cause of games like:

farcry, stalker, the sims2, black&white2 (maybe this year?!)
rome total war, battle for middle earth ANNNND Knights of Honor!!!

@Bora, i'll agree Bluebyte's the Settlers series was very innovative - i've had a "few" losses on my time account myself because of these games.

btw, did you know that Bluebyte is make a new the settlers 5 and that it will be published by Ubisoft ! the Settlers (http://www.thesettlers.com/teaser/)

Nothing on Bluebyte's own site yet though :(

Edit: ooooohhhhh , i forgot to mention that this time the settlers is in 3D and it look awesome if ya ask me :go:

I gave up on settlers with #3- the AI just ****ed in skirmish mode.

I saw that 4 was buggy and the AI was also scripted and reacted poorly. Didn't buy it.

No way will I buy a BlueByte game until I have proof the AI is worth a damn.
