its not that easy to publish a map editor.

1. it needs an user interface, which average customers can handle.

2. if the game is an economic success (im sure it will be), bss & sunflowers want to sell an add on - naturally.

so maybe the map editor will be part of the add on or - if there is no add on - they make it available on the website.

I'll expect KoH2 to include a mapeditor - infact that would probably be one of my main reasons to buy KoH2 ( which WILL come ! ) - i'll hope it will have an easy to use interface - like AOK - i really liked that one.

I think that the map editor should be included in add-on or free in download section.
Hmm, in the simple game like Tzar, Dragon Throne or even in those old like War 2 or AoE there was a map editor on which we could made simple map's/scenarios or if we better know scripts, we could made even big campaigns!

1. it needs an user interface, which average customers can handle. What does it need? Heck, I edited BF42-maps in a texteditor!
A GUI is a nice "feature", but not necessary.

but we want that editing maps will be fun not pain. Dont say that the editor is bad but it is made for the developers needs.

If the editor will be released, it needs polishing and QA pass.

But for the initial release it is not planned to be included.

Thanks for the replies, i mainly posted becuase someone had claimed on the Lords 3 board that KOH was going to have a map editor, but they quickly deleted their post so that by the time i checked his post was already gone and all i saw were some replies to it. thankyou for clearing up these details for me, i think ill take a look at KOH when it comes out (hopefully ill have the time for that large SP campagin)

On another note i know a few of u have posted on the L3 board before and maybe some still do, you may see me on there i go by the name Erwin Rommel(Former AH).

There is always players who wish to create their own world in a game.

However if the Editor is not ready it can cause frustration.

Some will be able to use the raw editor but many others will want a polished product. With some of the leg work taken out whilst others will want to be able to get intothe scripting side.

I hope that we will see some great User created adventures.
