If I had three wishes to use, hmmm.....
1st Wish: I suppose the first would be a 2nd patchfor KoH.
2nd Wish: Have more MODable version.
3rd Wish: After they release Paraworld & Anno 1701, make KoH2
Now all I need is a genie holding a sunflower, I hear that these are kin to Lepracauns and seem to be blinded by all that shimmering gold.
Am I pissed, yeah sure, but sunflowers, Black Sea aren't the first and surely won't be the last.
So let us speculate if we caught the Genie and a wish, what would that be?

I think Knights Of Honour has definite sequel potential. There's so much that could be added to improve the game, and enough that could be done to mark it as a clear sequel, and not just an expansion pack or something.
They could even throw in a proper toolset.

I second that!!

It seems to be there is a real lack of good medieval (roughly) strategy games out there, that do not focus merely on waging war. I can't find any satisfying medieval period empire building and management games, KoH is about as close to that as I've been able to find. But even this game is too focused on wars, but at least there's a reasonably robust diplomacy system, and there's more than just war after war.
The Civilization games are great for that sort of thing, but I usually get bored once the period moves past the Renaissance. I want something more confined to a period I like.
A KoH2 could increase diplomatic options, provide more empire management, add in a more detailed trade system, introduce a cultural and religious influence aspect (eg neighbouring provinces could be converted or assimilated into a more culturally advanced society, or, depending on their national disposition, be more likely to be hostile because of it), and so on and so forth.
There's a lot of good stuff in KoH that could be expanded upon for a sequel, but I think there's zero chance of a sequel ever happening.
Koh has the potential to be one of, or the best medieval strategy game ever. Too bad SF never saw this, they only looked at the graphics and said this is trash, Americans don't want it, whihc was wrong.
If they had taken the time to beta test, commercialise the game and support it, KOH2 would have a release date by now.
Anyways thing that could improve KOH in KOH2(if it ever comes, I won't buy it if SF is the publisher and hasn't change much from what it is now thu) would be,
1- better AI
2- a dynasty tree, kind of like crusader kings.
3- Knights die of old age too, not just kings, also as they grow old they should get more "experiece" adding some moral or something similar.
4- Brothers of the heir actually act like they should. You can use them to rule certain vassal. Sometimes one of these brothers won't be happy that he wasn't the heir and rebel.(Civil wars!)
5- Change day and night cycle into seasons and months, no need to add date, just months, so if it is july, then is summer, if is december then is winter and so on, which inturn should affect battles.
6- more diplomatic options.
7- Events!: plague, province fair, mongol invasion, King dies of disease, baby from royal family dies of unknow causes, meteor sighted, monk performs "miracle", ect...
8- multiplayer Europe map, maybe not all of europe but certain parts. Example: 6 player play on the british isles as diferent small kingdoms(York, Mercia, Wales,ect..) and fight each other until one of them unites England by destroying all other players.
Hmm I think that's all or most of it, can't think of anything else at the moment.
OH, keep the 2D graphics, that's what makes KOH different from all of todays games, is what makes it shine over medieval total wars and other games. thu is 2D, it still has eyecandy while maintaining a beautyfull, playable world that gives the feeling is truly medieval. Maybe make battles 3D for graphic lovers, but keep the world the way it is now, just pulishing it a bit.

Deffinately a sequel, but please no 3d buggy graphics. If we wanted that we'd play Total War.

I agree with Richard's assessments. As it stands, KoH is one of the best overall medieval strategy games, at least to have come along in a long while. I think there's definitely a niche to be filled for medieval games that are not war games. And I like the 2d graphics as well, 3d isn't needed for this sort of thing. Too many games go for 3d graphics, even the new city building games like the upcoming Caesar IV are using them, and for what? Being able to zoom in close is useless in a game where you need a constant over-view, and 2d is perfect for that. You get much nicer details and pre-rendered backgrounds than 3d provides for.
To address Richard's point #5, seasons would be much better than day/night cycles. Seasons could also not only influence battle outcomes, but food production, population increase and decrease, and even the fertility of your royal couple (being indoors more in winter might give an increased chance of having children for example).
Events would be excellent too, those sorts of things really make a world come alive.

The others sayd what is good for this future game.I think that Multiplayer Europe Map is the most important thing.6 players playing with 6 kingdoms and AI played with the other kingdoms.Thats from me.I hope there will be second KOH,better than furst one.
sequel with 3d graphic ;)

sequel with 3d graphic ;)
I've just got my new computer together and bought TitanQuest to see what it was made of. Well although not really my cuppa tea (Diablo/Dungeon Siege clone), I would love to see KoH2 be like this, as I think everyone is only doing 3D.
Pity though, as a good blend of both worlds of KoH & TitanQuest in my opinion, would work extremely well.
Anyways, looks like there are a few people looking forward to #2 by the standing poll votes so far. We do need a couple more ;)
Hi,
I'm new here :hello: !
First I want to say that the game is perfect :go:
1)New era \VIII or IX century\
2)A dynasty tree ! If the King die and there isn't prince, the cousin of the King should became the new King ! This \dynasty\ is very important in Bulgarian history !
3) more space for knights in the royal court !
4)keep the 2D graphics !!!!

Hehe, welcome, Gogo! You finally decided to register here, huh? And just when Frujin announced that there will be a second patch! Btw, feel free to sign yourself in the Bulgaria thread.
Another option for diplomacy should be to enforce peace. F.e. you have a vassal, who's paying you good money and you prefer to keep it. But then a stronger nation attacks it and wipes it out, together with the money from your vassal. But if you have the option to enforce peace, you could tell him: "Hey, stop attacking my vassal or you'll be meeting your Creator soon!"
And, of course, the "Or we will attack" option - add it to your conditions, when negotiating, and if the other side rejects, you automaticaly go to war (but it would be less likely the other side to reject, of course, especially if it's weaker).
I've had other ideas too, but they are in the other such thread, which is located here (http://forum.sunflowers.de/showthread.php?t=5011) (and is quite bigger).
Or "if you attact my enemy, I'll give you   ........ Bdin |province|"
Hi, Traveller :go: I told you that there will be KoH2  !

Oh, yes! That's currently a major setback in the KoH diplomacy - you can only either demand or offer. And there should definitely be (hopefully, in the new patch) a mix - "I give you that, you give me this"! Like in Civilization f.e.! I think even the TW series had something like that...
And btw KoH2 isn't sure yet - only the 2nd patch was announced for now!
Btw, did you remember where have you heard those rumours that there will be KoH 2, but made by another company, not by BSS?

Well I guess the Poll has come to the end. Not a bad result and funny figures, 9 vs. 17, I wonder how many people would spring up out of the dark if someone did make a Press Releae on KoH2...Well we shall see I suppose.
So here's to play a full campaign european map sometime...

Better to have support on what we have. A sequel can wait.
This game, in my opinion, is the best Medieval game I have ever played, and I had to actually order this game from Europe when it was released, becasue it wasn't released in North America after a year or so that it was released in Europe. Nonetheless, KOH2 would surely be a spectacle if they would just improve a few key things, maybe change a bit of the interface to make it a little different, maybe the graphics, and so on. KOH is gaining popularity, I remember when it came out, there were very few people, and now its freakin packed with people. I am very glad to see this. Releasing KOH 2, with a few extra inhancements would make the game probably by far the best RTS medieval game out there. Just the Sunflower dudes need some confidence and patience, but whatever:bash: .

Sunflowers are not the ones we expect to do something about it ...unfortunatley its all in the hands of EA games now because the game is owned by them ....Someone could to contact them i guess but its not going to be easy asking for KOH2 our chances are very smal ...
I voted for KoH2... not because of graphics (I like the 2D graphics) or other superficial stuff, but because KoH needs a real multiplayer mode, and a mere patch can't provide that.

Exactly! I read Frujins reply to that interview regarding multiplayer mode and it just doesn't fly with me. Its not a good reason, campaign should be multiplayer or make the AI much much better.
