I've seen plenty of games like that. The thing with those, appearentally Turn Based combat systems with RPG games is the easiest type (though in 2D) to make. Seems interesting though. Usaually I see these and mean to go back but forget about it.

Live For Speed (www.liveforspeed.net) is a racing simulator that is developed by three people. Two of them were part of Lionhead studios and worked on Black & White before they started this project.
Actually these three people managed to create the propably technically most advanced commercial racing simulation available on the market today. This software is a bit beyond the stage of being a game. The tyres dynamically deform, heat, scrub and change their contact patch in real time, every aspect of the suspension is simulated and thus changing any part ever so slightly has the correct effects.
The downside is that due to being so close to reality in behaviour a PC-steeringwheel is stringly recommended. Though every petrol head should try it using the mouse to steer. That also works quite well and the demo is a lot of fun.
