This page contains information about, and downloads of, data for the DB section of JGRot Pro.
Latest File
db.zip - Global server dataset v7.02, 19 August 2005. Includes bonus jargon lexicon. 50KB.
What's this?
These files are intended to support the DB data section found in JGRot Pro. JGRot Pro is in an open beta test phase. For more information about JGRot Pro, see http://www.myrotacol.net/html/jgrotpro.php.
The core dataset includes the following information:
- Commodity and equipment statistics, production locations, and production requirements.
- SpaceCraft key statistics, locations, and suggested loadouts.
- Station production lists.
- Building locations and requirements, including Custom Producers and similar.
- Ore composition and refining data.
- Table of ranks.
- Basic Conflux data.
- Medal summary, including Star Skill numbers.
This is primarily based on JOSSH, although it contains various extra data and changes. The core data should be identical the Shipper Widget. The data is entirely static - no real time data is included.
Installation
Download the zip archives, and extract all data files into JGRot's Data subdirectory. Within JGRot, under "Files" tab, add the files to the DB list by dragging and dropping them. Click Save. Full instructions are contained in the readme.txt in the archive.
Although it is possible to use both the EU and US files at the same time, it is highly recommended that you only use one. Using both simultaneously will create apparently duplicate screens, and it is hard to tell which screen relates to which server version.
Usage
The core DB for JGRot Pro makes most JOSSH static database information available in game via JG Rot. It does this mostly by ignoring the rotacol features, and uses the interface as a series of menus and screens.
Text is formatted in such a way that at least 34 characters need to be displayed on each line for all the data and text to be readable. If you use the JGRot Pro's defaults (9pt regular OCR-A Extended), the text will display correctly. Larger point sizes will tend to truncate lines. Use of a non-proportional font may make reading some data particularly hard. If in doubt, use the defaults.
There are no context sensitive links between different screens, as nice as that would be. Instead all data must be retrieved by arrowing in and out through the menus.
Basic in-console help is available under "About Data". This help can also be found in the readme.txt in the archive.
Minor corrections can be made by contacting me via email.
Looking for old EU data?
The last version that contained EU data was 6.11. It is contained in this archive (130KB ZIP).
