View Full Version : Serial Number invalid
Help, Just got my copy of Anno today and cannot get past the serial number I have read the above threads I have no 0 , 8 or O in the serial number I have tried U instead of V , G instead of 6 or C , 2 Instead of Z and vis a versa done them all in uper case tried doing the Hyphen using different keys tried the hyphens with spaces included and excluded but have not managed to get it to be accepted, I do have 6 M's in the serial number and 2 of them look strange but do not know if that is a printing problem or not they look a bit like a lower case n with an added bit on the top left . I tried N. I also tried 5 and S reveresed no joy. Any one out there have any other ideas please.

sounds funny, but some of the germans have had the same problem
they solved by using a reading-glass
do you have one? than try :go:
Thanks - using some specticles it was clearer - the 6 was in fact a G , for some reason it did not work the first time I tried it, but works now.

Why don't they use a much clearer lettertype? it's widely known that this kind of lettertypes cause problems for lots of people. I just don't understand why they don';t change this stuff.
Sir? because it's to late now?
i'm sure, next time they will !
maybe the money run out and they cut on the printing cost.

Just installed Anno. Started the game and it was asking for a serial number. Typed everything correctly. The game says the Serial is invalid.
I've looked so forward to play this game and I'm sure I typed everything right.
The fonts used for the serial number are very poor. I had 1 x 6 and 4 x V. I started to change the 6 into G and the 4 V's into U's. This did not work.
I changed the G back into 6 and started to change the U's one by one back into V's. After changing the 3rd U into V the serial number was accepted.
It is a bloddy shame, that the did not choose a font what makes clear what character is used. I took me hours.
I had to decipher my key many times... smudged and in some places illegible. Took over half an hour to enter the damn thing correctly.

I agree that the print quality for the serial key is very bad. I had like 6 V's or U's and it was extremely difficult to tell them apart. :bash:
I was expecting problems, but I got it right first time. Maybe mine was just clearer than most.
