View Full Version : Example for your first town
Hi Flo,
for some reason that did not work for me. Without clothes my pioneers do not want to upgrade to settlers. They have the church, food, a market square and they are even laughing at me as I do not chage a lot of tax - still I can not convince them to become settlers without clothes. What do I do wrong?
OH
You are correct, they will not upgrade without cloth!
You apparently overlooked the previous paragraph!
Now you can build the towncenter. Try to build it in almost the middle of your Island. To have more space around it for houses.
After this, you should build 40 or 45 pioneer houses around the town centre. But one of it's side should be free for public buildings.
Now build 2 sheep farms and 1 weaver's hut.
When you get the first clothes, you should ckeck you taxes.
Following that, you should have cloth when you try to upgrade the 10 houses to settler.
A question about the city planning;
What's with the streets between houses? They are not transporting anything so wouldn't it be better just to stick the houses close together without any extra space?
Welcome to the forum Dripher :halloha:
That would be possible,
But: the firedepartmend and the doctor needs the streets to get access to the houses. So you should build the streets

I edited the post
So there should be all of deejoos issues translated.
And i hope, it is the final version.
If someone finds any mistakes, please send a PM.

No, you have to build the streets, otherwise the houses burn down
Is it possible to assign a warship to escort a trading ship assigned to a set/automatic course?
Yes, just create the trading route and then assign the warship :go:
Do trading "partners" still get angry if one of your warships sails into their zone?
No, i never noticed this "feature" like in 1503. You can sail to your partners with warships :go: (they also do this  )
Do the fire pump and the doctor travel only on streets? How about the residents?
Yes, firedepartment and doctor need streets. They can't walk between the houses like in 1503.
The people walk between the houses. They wouldn't need the streets.
How many street connections must the new "Town Center" have? Must there be a street network between all the warehouses and the Town Center?
The town center doesn't need any street.
But when you build your town, you will automatically build a street to it (at least i do  )
No, you needn't build streets between warehouses and the town center (i think)
..... I don't have the game yet. The answers might help me to buy it in more of a hurry.
I have it. And i can say: Buy it, it's great fun (as all Annos).
But it's easier to play than 1503. (i reached the palace in less than 5 hours. And i'm a veeery slow builder/player)
What a lot of questions

Very nice guide! But I wonder: why do you only build for example 2 tobacco plantations pr. tobacco manufacturer? (and 2 cattle farms pr butcher etc) I thought each processing building could support up to 5 sources..

:beek:
How do you do that????
:bowdown: -->@ you
Seriously: No, nothing can support 5 sources. Never heard about that and i played 1602, 1503 and 1701. And i don't think, i forgot something
Sometimes it's possible to support 3 (1 whaler and 3 whale oil manufactory).
nice information
wish i saw this info before i started playing.
