Yes but the swords in europe weren't that bad in comparasion to the Japanese they did exactly the same thing here i.e patternwelding, but abandoned it as they realised they didn't have to do it.

If anyone is interested in reading more about swords and katanas - they should visit:

Swords from Toledo (http://www.swordsfromtoledo.com) - it's very interesting

The SWORDS.ORG (http://www.SWORDS.ORG) is also worth visiting

rgr. I used to have another one... it had nicer stuff. :) You can also find numerous places that make custom mail and armor... as well as weapons and bows. hehe.

I especially like the small statues from that previously posted site. They make great desk beautifiers. :)

@Sir Turylon

I would like a suit like the one a samurai worrior wore - along with weapons - i have seen one on display once and i think they are truely remarkable.

I'm also told that a real samurai suit is quite an investment, because it has so many details and it take like "forever" just to make one suit.

True, Jelldragon on the other hand are recognized as among the best in the world, even more so before when Paul Binn was working with them.

A swordsman/axeman is more mobile against a spearman, thus he should win the fight. Plus it would have a balancing effect. Making spearmen win over swordsmen/axemen will make the swordsmen/axemen nearly useless.
