I remember one game that was optimized to run on nVidia cards, it was as though nVidia had paid the game developer to structure the game to run better on their cards! :xmas_gaga:

I'm so sorry. I meant to link to these (http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1524)

This driver was found on Station drivers. In it's original form it is supposed to be a GeForce 8800 driver. We however have modified the driver to work with pretty much any GeForce graphics card to date.

In it's original file-size the archive was over 55 MB, we have recompresed the set and it's now at 34.5 MB

The binaries have been virus and pest checked. Should you try out these drivers then be sure to visit our dedicated forum thread in which you can discuss the positives and negatives on these drivers. Again, this is meant to be a Geforce 8800 driver. If it doesn't work out for you .. then don't complain okay ? And if it does .. wel good for you !

Interesting... but i will wait someone else to test those drivers.

LadyH, interested in some experimentations ?

I use them myself. Have been for the past week now with no problems.

I believe you, but i prefer to wait a WHQL (or so) release.

LOL. Cool. But don't hold your breath for the WHQL. Nvidia are having severe problems with the 88xx drivers at the moment. They're putting most of their time into those. Anyways, I hope you get your problem sorted out soon.

Good luck

Dave

So... no precise informations, but i asked to 8800GTS/GTX séries owners about their performances (I do no much know about their configurations and about precisely what they look when they announce their framerate):

- one says: Full settings, full filterings, 1680*1050, 22fps minimum on a "heavy map" (a "good" town).

- other says: 1920*1200, 40-42 fps.. but framerate falling when "dezooming" (go to sky with clouds).

Will try to have other informations.

Ok.

And 8800GTX owners said that, even if they've got a correct framerate (44 fps), they've got a decrease of it during zoom/ unzoom stage on island (22 fps).

In fact, I think there is the same problem with 8800GTX... but as this chip is a monster in performance, it makes game more playable !

Try to run FRAPS (to count FPS), an give your results.

Maybe you feel that game is smooth... but fps are maybe closer to 18-20fps than 35-40 fps.

Hard to say without a tool to measure.
