View Full Version : EURO 2004 last stage
this is mostly just for the poll. To see how the chances are now, whan qf opponents are known.
So:
A: Portugal vs. England
B: France vs. Greece
C: Sweden vs. Netherlands
D: Czeh rep. vs. Denmark
and the key is:
E: winner A vs. winner C
F: winner B vs. winner D
final: winner E vs. winner F
I think it could be:
semis:
E: England vs. Sweden
F: Czechia vs. France
and then my wish for final?
Czechia vs. Sweden (but with re-born Henry, it would be problem to beat France, so France is my third choice)
choose as many choices as you want, but please, if possible, not only YOUR country and also not more than 3 :)
come on, guys, post who are your favourites. There are 5 voters and no post yet...
share who are your favs.
PS: yes, who are the favs, when some favs are out: Spain, Italy
and some surprises: Greece, Denmark
and the rest is how expected: Holland, Czechia, France, Sweden, Portugal, England
or in the other side: Germany, Latvia, Switzerland, Bulgaria and Russia, Croatia (some of those even showed they are weaker than it seemed to be: Germany, Russia)
my fafourites are the netherlands and england, because i like their teams most. but i think it would be great if greece could beat the france....but i don't belive it...

IMO it will be Czechia and Portugal in the finals. Everything will be open then. France and England have good chances as well and also Netherlands.

I hope Czechs and Holland. Like to see another game like that with a different winner, of course ;) .
I would like to see the Czech and Sweden in a final, but that's not possible because if they both win their quarterfinals they'll meet in the semi on that "side" of the Euro 2004.
So I voted Czech vs. England in the final which of course the Czech will win!
Congratz.

I am so glad England lost. I must say I dislike english team and players....especially Beckham...
Go Portugal :go:
Oh, I missed that game, I only saw last penalties in a pub when we were leaving with friends. I must confess I am glad England is out.
Today... France - Greece? 2:1 I guess (Henry, Zidane : ?)
PS: I am shocked that Czechs got 10 votes from 17 people. I wouldn't be surprised if this happen in czech forum, but here?
I hope they will do it! But the first step needs to beat Danes, what will not be easy. I'm not so sure now.

Czechs are the only "East-Europeans" that are still in the tournament. I think that's the main reason (although I voted for the Czechs as well ;) )
I voted for Denmark, Czechia and Sweden
@Elewyn - to be honest i'm just as scared as you are :) for the match between our two teams - IMO the Czechian team is really a force to be recon with - besides your team also have a little score to settle with the danish team if i remember correct ( something about the danish team deprived the Czechian team of the possibility of going the world championship 2002 )
however they blew it themselves because they couldn't beat Belgium in a play-off match
Our team is also a bit "amputated" because one of our strikers Ebbe Sand has an injury - so i don't know whether or not we'll be able to give it our best shot - while even the Czechian bench is made up of "dane-eating-worriors" - GOD !!!! it gives me the creeps !
Then there is Sweden - unless Holland is able to "pour a cold bucket of water" over these vikings, then i'm sure they'll go all the way ( I really would LUV to meet them in the final - it would be a ferocious battle - the Scandinavian battle - the clash of the vikings !........and showing mercy would NOT be a part of the game from niether side ;) )
hmm. Sand injured, but you still have Rommedal and Gronkjaer. And they are not the most threatening players. I am very affraid of Sorensen. If there are two best goalkeepers, it is for sure that they are Buffon and Sorensen (+maybe yesterdays here Ricardo :go: and our Cech)
PS: Have you realized that big favorites are never beaten by their opponents and their own bad play, but only by referees and cheaters?
What was the reason why Italians didn't got through? Behaviour of Totti? Selfish Prime-donnes sacryfising nothing for a team? Bad play against Danes and unability to hold lead against Swedes? No! It was the complot of Scandinavians what decided! hahaha
England? Who is the reason of their loss? Sven Goran Eriksson or referee! Neither of English! haha. I must say that they played very good football but defending 1:0 lead after 3 minutes was little naive IMO
but this happens when somebody feels like bigger favourite than he actually is...

I totally agree with you Elewyn - i can't for the love of God understand why a great football nation like England would try to defend 1:0 lead after 3 minutes - they should have tried to score a few more - i mean tried harder ! - so i hate to be an ***, but IMO England had it comming - it just not possible to keep the other team 100% away from you side of the field for 80.......errrrmmm 87 minutes

I don't think England played that way because they wanted. Portugal played really good and forced their defenders and their last line to back off. This was a mistake Croatia did, we let their defenders play freely.
As I said Portugal will be in the finals IMO.
juhu!!!!!!!!!!!!! greece wins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bday:
