Don't worry, English is no problem. :)

If you need an English site, try Timski's Strategy Guide (http://www.capsu.org/1602/).

There is an English version of Annowiki don't know the address though.. I think you can go to the German version and switch to the English.

The English wiki is at www.annowiki.org - but it needs volunteers who fill it with information.

English? Yes I speak it, but no one here can hear me, I have no microphone hooked to my computer!

Seriously, there are a lot of English speaking/writing people around, there are just not very many English language folks asking questions!

I am working on the scenario called humility is a virtue and I have tried at least 4 times to accomplish it without success. I keep going bankrupt because I cant get spices and cocoa. My last attempt I managed 800 aristocrats before going broke. I Bought gold from the free traders at the beginning and even managed a few spices now and then. Any ideas on how to complete this mission? I am not into going to war and feel there must be a way to "swallow your pride" as the game says you must do. Any HELP would be very greatly appreciated. Thank You.

I cannot remember if I have ever played that scenario, but I do recall some discussion on it, but I think the main response was to go to war and take what you needed. Maybe there could be some way to stockpile some spices and cocoa, and jewelry, and dole them out slowly just enough to keep the inhabitant upgrades going with the taxes lowered to keep them from reverting back. Just an idea!

Maybe I should look the scenario up and try it!

moonlitcoyote, it seems you've been having trouble with this scenario for quite a while. I did a search and found your old thread:

http://forum.sunflowers.de/showthread.php?t=10110

It seems that the suggestions there are to take what you need by force or do as Mama suggests and solve the scenario without war.

you are right I have been having problems for quite awhile. And I did try mama's suggestion. I bought gold from the free traders. That was not the problem though as I stated. My people would not stay happy and they regressed to merchants because I could not supply SPICES. I paid the maximum for spices and cocoa but it wasnt enough. I am looking for any DIFFFERENT suggestions. I was hoping that more people had played and would know how to solve the spice problem. Thank you.

Sorry I wasn't much help. I am playing the scenario to see what I can come up with. I don't remember playing it before.

I am wondering how much I can get from those small islands.

Thank You Prince Eric......if you figure something out please let me know, I did try the small islands and managed to get a few spices from the natives but it just wasnt enough. Let me know how it goes:go:

I have started the scenario as well and have found no natives with spices, I found natives with tobacco products instead. I did find an island with 100% fertility for spices, but it will only support 3 farms, maybe a 4th partial farm.

The problem I am currently having is the stinking pirates! They have no respect for this Pirate!

I have started the scenario as well and have found no natives with spices...

I found an island with natives with spices, but a volcano wiped them out.

I haven't made much progress. I only have 450 Citizens. I was planning to buy spices and cocoa from the AI in the south east who has the monopoly, but he has turned angry towards me and has broken the trade agreement and declared war on me. No amount of tribute will make him happy. It will be very difficult to solve this one without fighting!

That's the problem I keep running into, And it makes me wonder why the assignment says to swallow your pride. How the heck do you do that if paying him wont work? I had no pride and still couldnt figure it out, lol.

I guess most people solve this one by just kicking butt!

I'm still working on it when I have time, I am going to make it work without fighting the white guy for his space!
