i dont own it, but i'm gonna buy it just to keep me entertained until KoH comes out..:D
you're able to control more than 30 different kinds of units, such as archers, mounted cavalry, and various siege engines, like catapults, trebuchets, siege towers, and ladders. The various regions of Europe supply unique units that you can field in battle. If you own a piece of England, you're able to recruit their famous longbowmen. Owning a province in Germany gives you access to the powerful Teutonic champion units.

Hey,man! You want it all? There can be some, which I agree with, but... Have you seen any map of KoH?, what about Nubian Spearman, Saharan Cavalryman, Mamluk Cavalryman etc.? And isn't it bit too much? I'd like to have Templars and Highlanders etc. but what do you mean by all that gothic knights, gothic cavalryman, gothic foot knight? Isn't it still the same with or without a horse? And handgunners? Frank said there will be no gunpowder, how will he fight without it?
Why am I asking so silly question. You wrote you want them all to be included, but it's crazy.
The Difference between a Gothic KNight and a Gothic FootKnight, is as simple as one being mounted and one being a footknight.
The Gothic CAvalrymen is the same as a knight just not as heavily armoured. How can a soldier be the same with or without a horse. If he's not on a horse, then he's no longer cavalry is he?
But yeh i was joking about including them all. But itd be good to get as many of them as we can right?:
For those interested in the MTW units and their differences. Check this site. It is very cool.

So you don't see the point in me posting about the units in KOH, yet you can post about MTW and its units and give links to MTW units.
I see how your thinking works now.
Shocked am I, to think that perhaps the included units in KOH may have any affect on a Wish list thread for the game.
The quote you posted mentioned 2, let me say that again 2. Units that will be included. As you can see from that quote they are already included. I posted the MTW units to get the ball rolling on what they want included. It had already been established that those units were include, so why post that.

Well, personally, I think the best would be to have only one "knight" unit(no footknight)... but to give it the possibility to dismount. Dismounted knights were often used during medieval battles and of course, castle assault. Afterall, there is little use for a horse in a castle assault and the brave knight would not leave the fights and all the heroic deeds to the commoners of the infantry.
But, I think about it... it would be so great to be able to take any infantry unit and put it ahorse. Perhaps you could even train horse in completly different places than soldiers. You could train your men at arm company, then your horse company, then assign the men at arm to the horse...
Depending of the horse race, they would be more or less strong, more or less fast... if you put heavily armored soldiers of small and fast horse, you got a cavalry barely able to move and unable to charge properly... hmm
The idea of making cavalry units able to dismount and then fight on the ground is a good one, but to let any infantry unit mount a horse is going to far.
If you have tried riding yourself you would know that it is not childs play, on top of that, having to ride one-handed or without using the hands at all, at the same time you are fighting for you life, it's not something any infantry could do. But yes, allowing knights to dismount is good, it just looks silly to have a "footknight" unit.
"If you have tried riding yourself you would know that it is not childs play, on top of that, having to ride one-handed or without using the hands at all, at the same time you are fighting for you life, it's not something any infantry could do."
Well, one of my uncle got a ranch so I had the chance to ride many time. Yep, it's not easy, but even for a novice rider like me, it was still faster than walking. So having your infantry regiments going around mounted would still be best for moving your army around. Even if they need to dismount to fight at the best of their capacity. And fighting ahorse is not that difficult. The hand of the arm holding the shield holds the reins. With a bit of practice anyone can do it. Of course, halbardiers, longbowmen and others troops of that style could not fight mounted at all.
And anyways, horses are expensive so you want to give them to those the most able with them. You could give the possibility to give horses to even a company of peasant. But of course, that would be a waste.
I imagine the current situation. King X attack king Y kingdom. unfortunatly, king Y got a bigger army than king X and sent it against king Edward's troops. But king X troops are faster since all of his men are mounted. So King X troop run away until they get in a strong position where they would have the advantage. There, king X asks his troop, his longbowmen, his footmen and even his knight to dismount. And you got a Poitier once again.
