@ pirate bait :hello:
thanks - i've tried that and it works great for buildings but have been unable to get it to function for trees...

I hold down the shift key after I click on the pipette and then pick my tree, usually a big oak. While holding the shift key, click on the tree to clone. Then click in the lumberjack hut area of influence, covering the lite green area with trees. Then click on the water can to get them growing good.

@ elseker soz :hello:
Take out his shipyard... sure!!! any hints on that one? I've now lost about 12 ships to that one lol

Build a lodge and research the bomber. It's the last research on the left side of the research tree, in lodge activities. Blow up his ship yard and retrieve the document like Dobber said.
Use 5 small war ships to distract his ships. Send the closest to the ship yard to pick up the document. Then get out of there fast.
Don't confuse the bomber with the blaster! Two different guys..

thanks I'll try that although I was rather hoping not to have to go that far into the game again (gaining citizens) etc *sigh* I researched the wrong thing the first time I guess lol

ah well these things are sent to try us

Lure his ships one by one into combat, sending your damaged ships back for repair in between. Also take out the cannon towers guarding the harbor.
I tried the bomber and was cuaght twice, so I just took it with ships. I think I used 7 ships.

@ Archilochus, clicking the water can plants the necessary trees to keep the lumberjacks at full production, no need to hand plant the trees.

Yeah um well... it would seem this game doesn't like me lol

I tried to bomb it 3 times and never succeeded

I sent one large and 6 small warships towards his shipyard and 2 small warships came out to greet me, and sunk every single one of mine in seconds

You probably sailed in to close and had cannon towers firing on you as well. I approached the ships on the front side of the island, luring them out from range of the cannon towers and disposed of them first, which caused him to send ships from the back side around, but I would pull away when I had sustained serious damage and get repaired and then got back. He has no shipyard on the front side and does not repair any ships being kept there. You can gradually thin out his Navy, then when going to the backside take out those cannon towers one by one as you make your way into the harbor. You might can even try bombing them. I landed troops back there and took out a marketplace thus disabling a cannon tower or two. Capture the market and make the towers work for you!

On this one though, I wasn't content with just getting the document! I had to obliterate him! I think I have a screenshot, I will check, and post if I do.

Thanks for the heads up. That will save me some coin!

Thanks Dobber lol can't wait to see that pic

but unfortunately I wasn't anywhere near the cannons, I was just sneaking toward the back hadn't even reached it.

But I will try again now and thin out the front ranks first :D

P.s. Luv the quote ;)

As promised elskor_soz, Here is Igor's stronghold, after I got through with him! I already had picked up the document, but was making the Queen's envoy wait while I mopped up Igor! As a matter of fact, I didn't even start destroying his settlement until after I had the document. Before retrieving the document I only took out the fleet and the towers guarding the harbor, then destroyed the shipyard and retrieved the documents. As an afterthought I decided to wipe him off the map!

Last time I checked, I was a guy!

And yes, elskor_soz, I have been at this in one form or fashion for about nine years now! And in my Anno sessions, I always wipe out the AI players, I do not want to share, I want it all and I get it all! Conquer and prevail!

Ok so you're designated king got it :go:

remind me never to play an online game with you lol

Dobber

I don't cook very often now days, at least not in quantity. And I only work 2-3 hours a day, sleep 4-6 hours and the rest, when not spending time with the family I am playing one of many strategy games I have, or visiting and posting here!

Now when I owned the restaurant, I had no time for games. But I sold the restaurant 9 1/2 years ago and became an hired assassin!

Edit: I just want to clarify the hired assassin, I am in the pest extermination business now and I rid peoples homes of unwanted insects and rodents!

back again folks.......discovered another bit of weirdness in the scenarios.

first, my auto-save is turned off and i have no deliberately saved games.

however, when i open the game the first option is to 'continue game' and when i click on it - it's one that i've completed and won....in desperation i completed the thing again....went back to single player and it's still there - and in exactly the same spot as before. is there a way to view saved games and dump them? i have no desire to go back and finish it yet again....

Just skip over the continue game option, you don't have to slect that option. Choose Singleplayer instead. Once you select singleplayer, you will notice options for Continuous play, Tutorial, Scenarios and Playground. The continuous play option is a different thing thean the Continue Game button on the previous screen. It will open up a section to customize a continuous play style game.
