US Patch 1.02

I got a reply today from Aspyr- they are working on the patch, more info to follow. They also said they currently have no info re: the expanson pack.

Good news indeed! Maybe the extra inquiries got them moving! :go:

First of all, I just joined the community, and I love the forum!

Second, after hearing about all of the additions on the new patch, I too filled out a ticket at Aspyr's website. This was the response that I received (today):

Greetings,

We're in the process of working on the patch so expect that out
relatively soon. Info will be posted via the news section of www.aspyr.com.
As for the add-on we don't have any official news regarding that at
this time.

I just checked Aspyr's website. The news section has the RELEASE of the new 1.02 patch. I also downloaded and am currently installing the patch as I type!!! Use the USA MIRROR #2 site (Mirror 1 wasn't working for me). Hopefully, this will all work!

It's great news about the U.S. 1.02 patch. I re-loaded it (I was playing the U.K version) and was able to use a saved game from the U.K. patch.

After completing about 15 or so trader missions without missing a single one he offered me the mission with the Asian Junk.:biggrin:

Got a response yesterday from Aspyr support to my question as to when the 1.02 US patch was going to be released.

"We're in the process of working on it but don't currently have any official release dates. As a heads up, your processor isn't meeting the minimum speed required by the game."

So the patch was probably released as this support person was typing the above response and I've been playing 1701 with no performance problems since I installed it. Just goes to show that one hand doesn't know what the other is doing at Aspyr. Not a promising outlook for any US expansion to this game. :rofl:

I uninstalled 1701, to get rid of the faulty 1.01 patch installation, then reinstalled and patched to 1.02 and everything is working fine! I did save my profile first so I wouldn't have to work through the medals again! I have been playing for several hours and I have already achieved 2 of the platinum medals, but I haven't gotten a Chinese junk yet.

Installation was a breeze here, although I didn't play very long yet. I still have to use the shortcut to fire up the game.

I just discovered I still have to use the desktop icon as well. They still didn't get it synched with the North American game installation!

You are correct. For me it was 40t of Diamonds!

I haven't tried with the second patch, but I did form a pact with him after the first patch! I had a pact with him and a pact with Tetonka at the same time! Talk about hitting the AI with a double whammy! I would set the pirate on one of the AI's ships and warehouses and lightning strike the same AI. Talk about suffering, that along with a revolutionist and they were ready for takeover!

Thanks for the reply Dobber. At least I know a pact is possible.

So far Mr. Pirate gets impressed with Large Warships and occasional tributes but it sure takes a long time to get in his good books. Especially when I have to protect my trade routes from him.

Anyway, I shall endure!
