Again, part of what you say I agree with, but part not. This time a completely different issue. We do agree on the graphic quality being the big seller, however, I'm not like most. Frankly few look at a game the way I do. I'm one who pictures the game as simple stick figutres and boxes and looks at the gameplay and workings, which only one who can see it the way I do can visualize. So, there we agree and of course needing to upgrade for those with older systems and it can be done possibly at minimal costs.
As to what we don't agree on is M;TW. I have to ask first though, are you talking the first or the second?! I play and enjoy both myself and as you noted, look at the strategic angle. While graphics helped it sell, that is not what made it a great game, again IMO. I'm one for long and drawn out games with some history backing. I also don't agree that only if you have the bigger army you will win a given battle. I have won/conquered many with 2/3 the force of my enemy and it did come down to strategy and tactics. Granted if your forces are larger it is easier, but the one with the greatest force does not always win in my own experiences.
So, be it as it may, we do not need to argue the point as we are not going to change each other's minds, we just view things differently on some issuse, and why forums are a great tool. Enjoy!
Sincerely,
Phil
