I see (I think), but even your description is but too vague for me. What I need is a more specific account of how and what will be changed is what I meant. Much like with Tome, you had to unlock the other factions for example as M2TW is not as diverse and I have not gotten into the game that far yet as I'm helping on more than just this forum. So, I guess I'll wait for the release notes to make my determination if I'll even get/install.

Sincerely,
Phil

I'm talking about mods (modifications), mainly the major ones, which add new factions, units etc., change the gameplay drastically and so on. A good example for such mods (most of which are still in progress) is this board (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=211). Of course, every different mod changes things differently, like f.e. there are also differences between the KoH mods (i.e. between Elvain's "HRE" and Angryminer's "GoG").

Well if that so, I would reconmend American Conquest - Fight Back with the European Warfare: Napoleonica Mod by The Hawks . With more details please refer to:

In Cossacks II: Napoleonic Wars, as far as I remember, every squad of your men should be given order to shoot or else what: they just stand still like in their backyard being torn to pieces without a blink of their eyes. So what a tedious job you have to undertake with dozens squads of soldiers dying for your close attention.
That's really not a problem for me, since in Cossacks I rarely need to control even a dozen of squads, while in EW it's almost impossible for me to keep an eye on the whole front.

I've played European Warfare: Napoleonica Mod too, and I would still say that Cossacks II is better. It has much better graphics and it's a lot more realistic (e.g. morale), but above all, you can also play it in singleplayer.

From this prospective, I'm against that as I don't and won't have "modded" games myself. I only patch, not mad any game I've had and this includes KoH. Patches or custom scenarios are one thing, but this type of mod is something else. To improve by adding to is one thing, but to change the game programming and mechanics is another, so from that point I won't .

Sincerely,
Phil
