If you don't put the game on shelves in certain markets then you don't get any sizable community in that market. If it ain't at EB then the dollars will go to other games. I walk into EB now and I see Rome: Total War ... well displayed well marketed and selling (weak, broken game IMHO). So obviously there are Australians buying, meeting, and playing in their timezone comfort.

The poor sods that are forced to order a game from overseas (and pay more for it), will find in most cases that they will have to battle the time zones to get a decent Multiplayer game.

How hard is it for an Australian player to log on at a decent hour and get a 4v4 game with low pings???

I think it was ethically wrong of Sun Flowers not to have revealed this Strategy to the non-covered markets in the lead up to release. Many followers of the games development wouldn't have bothered if they had known that they would be left out of a general release. (of course you would have known this being the marketing experts you are lmao) .

I have waited to play this game for 4 plus years only to find that I will not have a decent Australian community or Clan to Join.

Once bitten twice shy Sun Flowers.

omg calm down we all agree with you but u gotta stick through it we all hate this Bs sunflowers is puttin on north america and other parts of the world in think they are trying to switch theglobal market for gaming from north americaandasiatoeurope though it will never happenwith a gamelike his or any other they would need a whole garrison of games all with unique qualities unlike the ones now with supreme graphics and sounds with a good storyline and a good allround feel which is quite impossible in a small amount of time for even EA not to mention some smaller Europian companies
hope this clears some things up

www.GoGamer.com imports several titles into the USA from Europe. You can buy KoH for 50$ USD just now 10-25-2004 out of California and New Jersy warehouses.

I notice that after a few weeks it will be about 40$ as usual the first time they carry the game it is at a higher price. Still cheaper than overseas freight and exchange rate.

I buy from them all the time. So if you got EA not publishing in USA, you can buy it from that link in USA. It was available for sale in the USA after October 25.

No, KoH ships on two CD-ROMs, but it is delivered in a DVD-box.

It's an extra-big DVD-Case so the 92-pages-manual and the goodies fit into the box.

I live in Canada too and since I really wanted this game, I ordered it from game.net in UK too
It cost me almost $80 CAD including taxes (PST & GST) that was collected by Canada post !!!
What bothered me however was that it took over 10 days before Game.net shipped it and another 10 days before it arrived here!
Anyway I do buy from UK once in a while the kind of good games that I like and could not wait for forever before they are released here at some extra cost (p.s. the average game price for a very good game in Canada is around $49 to $59)

The game from gogamer.com is th exact same game from UK just imported into USA. It has the same format and manual as the UK version.

Funny, they will not normally ship to Canada? Only USA. I guess it is since they use FedEx only shipping.

If you call them, they are nice and they can send it to you special delivery. :) They have very good customer service and will accomidate people in circumstance.

The gogamer.com says they ship to "Continental US" I think that means USA & Canada.
But as you said they only use FedEx and that is a big no, no for me because FedEx just like UPS charges you an additional "custom" handling fee, that alone could add up to $30 to your cost !
I was ripped off by these couriers once and promised not to fall for it again that is why I do not buy from any company that is not willing to use the registered or regular air mail postal services.

"Continental United States" means the contiguous 48 states. This excludes Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada (which last time I looked was actually not part of the US, which I guess they must be pretty thankful for right now).

My order from GoGamer is on its way...49.00 w/5.50 for 2nd Day fedex to here in Pennsylvania, so all-told, about $55. Not bad at all, really, for a new game that is an IMPORT.

Looking forward to playing it this weekend! Maybe I'll post some observations next week. Right now, I'm engrossed in Rome: Total War, but I'm going to play KofH right away.

Oh, BTW..new to the board.

Later,
Pat D.

Got my copy (Import) from GoGamer on Friday afternoon.

Simply put, this game is fabulous! I quickly stopped playing Rome: Total War. I am loving it so far.

EA...if you think the US/North America market wouldn't buy this game, you're sadly mistaken...but then again, you've been mistaken about a lot! (see 1503 add on!).

later,
pat!

I'll let you all know how it goes.

They say 4-6 days... the game price was 27.99 GBP and shipping 3.95 GPB

According to todays rate that shoud be about...

31.94 * 1.84800 = 59.02512... $59 for the game, delivered.

For those of you North American folks who played their demos ragged (like me), don't forget about the Ebay option. I found a couple UK-based sellers offering KoH there & wound up getting a copy for about 60 USD, shipping included --- not cheap but not terribly exorbitant either, considering how much a hoot I've already had with the game in the 72 hours I've had it loaded on my rig.
Nice job on delivering a fine and (so far) bugfree product, devs and publisher(s)!

Cheers from Hollywood, CA, USA!
