There have been a lot of questions about US players purchasing KoH. Here's the straight poop:
AmazonUK.com will not ship to US addresses
Play.com will not ship games to US addresses
Gameplay.com will ship to US addresses. URL: http://shop.gameplay.co.uk/webstore/productpage.asp?productcode=RM01474
Cost is pounds 26.99, plus about pounds 9 in shipping. At today's rate, that converts out to about $65.
They estimate 1 to 4 weeks to deliver, but poster in Seattle (sorry, cannot remember his handle) has already received his, so if you live in a metropolitan area, I'm guessing you will get it faster than if you live just south of Shirt Tail Creek.
Gameplay notified me that they shipped to me on the 5th. When I actually get the game, I will update this post to let you know how long it took.
Hope this is helpful to everyone looking to become Emperor of Europe!
Edit:
I promised everybody to update when my KoH arrived from gameplay.com. It was sent on the 5th and arrived today, the 12th by registered mail.
:hello: and
I look forward to many great gaming hours and a good exchange of strategy and ideas on the forum. Pax Gaia.
many thx for the info. As soon as i get paid i will purchase this game.

now, mods, please make this topic sticky!
it will help many people and will hopefully cease the neverending flow of questions like "where can i buy this game in US and/or Canada?" :)
and while i am on this - some of the other "sticky" topics a not needed anymore. a cleanup will be good :)

No you don't have to. I didn't and they still email me updates on the shipment.
Everybody-Greetings. I've been searching like crazy for info on the US release date for KOH ( ) and all I've been able to find is the infamous "Oct 2004" until I surfed:
http://www.tothegame.com/game.asp?id=2765 .
The web page gives a US release date of 26 Oct 2004. Though the US distributor is still TBA (to be announced). I have no idea if this is an accurate release date and I was wondering if anybody can verify this for me. I live in FL and stopped by an EB Games today. They don't even show KOH in their computers yet. This leaves me a bit concerned since the 26th (if this is a valid date) is about 2 weeks away.
I guess what I'm asking is-> Is there going to be a US release? If so, what date because I'm not getting good vibes that things are going alright for a US release. Trying to find out about the US release has been a pain in the @$$! Just a little more info please.
Other than that, I love the demo. I can't wait to get a hold of the full version. I was thinking about just hitting Ebay and getting the UK copies that are listed on there, but being a cheap b@st@*d keeps me from doing this.

lol. well.. hopefully... I know one thing is for sure.. I'm not gonna spend $65 for one game. regardless. I'll wait till the price drops below $40 US. Sorry devs, but $65 for KoH doesn't seem worth it. You can buy 2 new games for that price here. :nono:

 How come KoH gets published by EA in the UK but it doesn't get published in US. Doesn't EA publish games in the US also? What the hell, its certainaly not worth buying a game for 65$ its a rip off, besides sunflower had 12+ months to find a publisher for the US, you couldn't have made a deal with someone. I may not now anything about the gaming busness but why the hell won't EA publish KoH in the US and publish it in the UK. I understand a cheap game with a low budget that was NO fun at all finding a publisher but a game as great as KoH not being able to find a publisher its IMPOSSIBLE.

I have to agree, $65 for 1 game is way too much. I want the game but will have to be satisfied with the demo...maybe down the road but may be forced to get Crusader Kings to satisfy my medieval gameplay needs!

I live in Canada, am an old fart, and unless I have been "out to lunch", most new, top quality games (like this one) cost between $59.99 - $69.99 plus applicable taxes. That easily pushes the price to at least $60 to $70. I got mine from game.net and it cost me $72 delivered to my door in record time! It was well worth it! This is my newest, latest, "best game out there" game!

political... what does politics have to do with selling games? lol, j/k. Sad day when companies decide not to distribute good European games in a Non-European country because of "Political reasons." Oh well.. I'm not gonna fork over $65-$70 for ONE game, regardless of how good the game is.

Me personally, I don't have any problem paying $57 for it. A new game costs from $40-$50 around here. If it is a game like Civ3 or DiabloII that keeps me occupied longer than 4 months, I am more than happy to fork over the extra 10-15 bones. $10-$15 barely buys a pizza for that matter.

it is not politics in common sense (for example bush/kerry) ... it is company politics

Yes, most games over here cost between 39-49 dollars. I believe Crusader Kings was 39 and RTW was 49. Also when you purchase at your local game store, you can get coupons for a % or dollar amount off.I currently have a 10$ off coupon. Also no shipping. So I could get a new game from 29-39 dollars and no shipping here. I cannot see paying almost double for a game. Now if I was rich, it would not be a problem, have to keep playing the lottery!
Also if there is something wrong with the game, I can just go to my local gamestore and exchange it for a new one. If I have it shipped overseas, I have to either - ship the broken one back, or wait for another one. Just seems to be too much of a hassle!
That said,I love this game!
