But wasn't it later than Medieval, 16th century or so?
Kagemusha and RAN are 2 different movies from Akira Kurosawa.
Check out imdb for more infos about them.
Both of them are good movies indeed.

horrible horrible?????? Sean Connery and Richard Gere and *just love her* Julia Ormond.....they are great!!!!!!! it's a simplified part of the King Arthur story.....but they do it great!!!
Poor acting, with actors who obviously have no feel for their characters at all. A bad interpretation of the Arthur saga. The costumes look like they are from a second rate school play. I don't get any medieval or even fantasy feeling from this movie.
Sadly, Connery takes part in more than one crappy movie like this (Dragonheart, couldn't even manage watch the whole of it). The only thing that's good about this movie is Connery's voice.

ow ok...then I will look it up in the video shop......
btw...I clicked on the picture from the movie and got some pics ...from 1948 (as it says....)....but allready thought it were modern foto's...then I saw Jody Foster....don't think she was that old in 1948.....wrong link I think....
First Knight was okay. I would have been better if they didn't call it Camelot. Just change the names and stay away from the Arthur legend, that would've improved it. The first time I saw it I kept on thinging that they're totally screwing up the legend.
hmm....ok they did f*** up the legend....but it is kinda the same story...would be more stupid with new names...it is just a simplyfied story.....

My favorite medieval movie:
"Monty Python and the Holy Grail"
or in German "Ritter der Kokosnuss".
Okay, this movie isn't much about medieval athmosphere, but you asked for my favorite medieval movie - and I love this movie...

For the Jean d'Arc fans.....:

al the movies and series about her......
Jeanne D'Arc (1999-version, the one with Leelee Sobieski) is my favourite. I also like "First Knight" and "Braveheart" pretty much, as well as "Lord of the Rings". However, if you already start throwing in Fantasy-movies, I just have to mention "Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of the Heroic Knight"... :D
