Units that are not siege units should NOT be able to attack gates AT ALL!!!!

And yes, I agree with most of your points, William. Hope the patch will address a lot of things in this game- it has some promise... but...

William I agree with you 100%. After 1503 AD I blindly trusted blacksea studios. I thought they were GOD when it came to games. Then came 1503 AD expansion pack - Was a minor setback. The game had nothing new to offer but the pretty buildings pelased me.
I waited for KOH like there was no tomorrow. I paid over 80 bucks to get the game imported to the US? Then I cried.....
The game has not lived upto its expectations.....It desprately needs the zoom in feature so that people can admire the beauty of the game....If graphics were not that important I would rather play a game of online CHESS on yahoo which is much more challenging....
So heres a humble request to the dev's "Listen to the people and please release te zoom cheat and fix all these bugs for you have a AWESOME game if you step upto the situation"
And yeah whats with the attitude of the webmaster.....Guy relalize that we are BIG fans of blacksea and hence the eagerness....

After some mutiplayer sieges an imporatant question pops up:

ARE WE IN BETTA TEST?

Did some1 actually played a siege in Black Sea? How can you possibly take that castle? Longbows shoot at the same distance as catapults. So you have only trebushets left, which also operate on the edge of they distance and can't be moved. But trebushets are 800 per unit!!! And you need 3 if you want to hit the keep. Now i just played 2 attakers on 1 defender, defender has not that many longbows and some m@a even 1 feudal knights. I personaly crashed 4 towers and a gate with 2 trebs. Then we (2 players) start an assualt and guess what? Only one unit of teutons make it ot the keep and was slain on it by archer's knifes. Enemy loses: feudal knights who got out of the castle alone and like 1 unit of m@a. And some dead men in other units, but we LOST 2 armies totaly.

And yes we are not totaly retarded ok, we didnt just walk in. We even flaged some towers, engaged in shooting and camping to heal dead, over and over again, all we could possibly do and enemy was very passive just standing on the towers and keep.

2 on 1 I tell ya.

You should give the siege machines for free I tell ya, you give the other guy a whole castle for free and same money as attackers.....

Makes me really sad.

Game needs TEAM chat. We can't talk in team and coordinate our moves - enemy hears us. And in this game you can't expect people on teamspeak or ventrilo if you know that I mean. Team message needed both for battle and initial unit purchase stage.

Uhm... BSS has nothing to do with ANNO. That's their first game.

I can't speak about the sieges, because I still haven't played any.

I’ve heard that many people understand my words as if I didn’t like the game. I must stress that’s totally not the case.

I like the game, moreover I LOVE KoH. The game is very good. However there are minor issues that drop some shadow on great game and since I happen to be very attached to KoH these minor issues bother me a lot, so combined with my style of arguing, my posts look like I’m very angry or outraged.

Make no mistake about it – the game is good but I just want it to be totally awesome, so I attack every single detail I don’t like with a fury that I probably should control more.

Everything I say should be understood as calm, constructive and positive feedback. No offence of any kind or anything like that. If you feel that you start to think bad about KoH after my posts you are wrong.

The game is great.

Even on slow speed I constantly have a feeling that something slips away.

I've only played the demo, in the full game isn't there the "pause" option?!?

And I have to say that with pause I found the game to be totaly under control of a player. It works just fine, allowing you order around and switch screens and what are not.

yes, when you click pause, it allows you to get some coffee and then you can continue the battle! :cheers:

Here is some(it is not all of it) summary of the collected stuff from forums, irc, demo stuff:

I think this will solve the siege machinery stuff, it is actually AngryMiner's suggestion:
-make it more UNaccurate - a lot more unaccurate. Now the catapults and tribuchets are like sharpshooters compared to the archers.
-If gates are destriyed so easily, I suggest improving their HP/armor too.
-Catapults should shoot a little more than the longbows or sth.
-The Towers shooting at ally or empty is a bug (they said it will be fixed)
-I suggest fortification to NOT shoot at all (on the strategy map).
-Team chat is vital (I didn't know there is no team chat)

Enemy AI at sieges and some battles must be improved. I've seen 2 balistas killing enemy marshall and the enemy just do nothing about it (don't even run) and this like 5+ times. Also the AI in defending Castle do not moves outside of it, so you just come shoot and run, then camp, restock and do it again - pretty cheap - so I suggest if enemy see you camping or sort to come out and fight (or try to take out the archers). Also the AI must build more archers - I've seen very little (at least in the demo)
-There should be no such powerfull camp mers at the begginig - too easy to get feuds, cavalery, lonbws and stuff.
-The AI should try to build the strongest units too.
-overall smarter AI + harder stuff, (the expoit issues) (primary work in the patch, like Bss said)
-err...some inteface improvements like Willaim said - Right MB to move units IN formation and FACE the directed location. (now it moves them, Face them, but loses their formation...and changes the density)
-err Expensive KP cost. (like 800+400 per province or sth :P )
well, that's all I remember (sure not all you want), maybe Angryminer should start a Topic with demandings and to edit it if we found some issue, that will help the Devs to spot the things we suggest in only 1 place.
-the multiplay unit cost/strenght balance (and unit complects on Towers map) - this is unknow to me, seems William is testing it he gives the info there.

Well maybe immune gate to hits is too much, but something like a unit of swordmen to take around 7 mins to break the lowest door si good.

Is there any way to use the hot oil that is over the gate?

I belive normal units shoul NOT break any gate or wal. Now, as it is, who has never waited the end of a siege? Having walls now is a nonsense.

...its even bother to get? Is KoH any good this post surely make me hesitate...? Im 32 yo in next month so i have plenty of "real" things to need of invest so i dont really wanna waste my money on this if its crap...? ? ?

The game is very good if you ask me. Moreover its the only game I bought in... hm.... 1.5 years.:)

But if you think about games as "crap" you should not buy it. The game is pretty different from casual eye candy plastic rts they sell these days. And if you so old and busy with your "real" life you probably dont need a game anyway.:)

I'm 29 y.o. and I have a lot of "real" things to need of invest too, in fact, this is the only game I bought in the last 2 years... But I can assure you that I would not waste my time on this forum if it was not a great game: I love it! It's simply not perfect, like any other game on the market. We all are here talking about it 'couse we like it, altought we were plaing with somenthing else...
