Good thought Frank.........er RoadRunner!
When the scenario didn't close I did open it in the editor, the original file, not during the game. I opened it to count the number of ships at the start of the game. I did not "save" it, only viewed the original setup at the start of the scenario.

I think there was something similiar during Frieden's last contest "Friends" which was discussed at the other (Annozone) board - but I could not find the relevant postings anymore. I am not sure about that feature, and it is only a supposition from me, but I think if you open a savegame with the editor and save it, you may loose some of the defeated ships... Well, I think Frieden should say something concerning that if he remembers that... Or send him a PM. ;)

I didn't see or couldn't read the posts on the problem in the contest but...
I did notice that even without saving the game from the editor, at some point after counting the ai's aristos I lost the conquering stats for the ai to the south. I had to go back many days to get a savegame that still had the stats.

You're right Frank ... sy.. roadrunner ;)

Saving a game in the editor, and playing it on as a sceanrio means: the defeated ships and defeated soldiers are gone. Zero :silly:

Does the same thing happen if you move a saved game to the "own scenarios" to avoid the problems in restarting a multiplayer game?

Dobber has uploaded several of his islands to The Anno-Pool (http://www.annozone.de/annopool/)! They are some very nice looking works!

Thanks, Dobber!:)

Thanks, Prince Eric.

Maybe some of them might be of some use to somebody. I really enjoy designing islands. I have never tried creating scenarios. Is it hard getting everything balanced and setting objectives? I usually just use the Map Editor to place my own islands into the map and then play an endless game.

Maybe you should try to play a downloaded scenario... ;) :)

I am going to do that, I noticed when I joined the AnnoPool sie that there were plenty there for download! Any in particular you suggest I should try first?

I've borrowed one of your islands and I'm testing "Paradise" for use in a scenario. Very interesting island! Maybe you'd like to try own of my scenarios on the Anno-Pool?
I'd suggest "King of the World", "Pirate Hell" or maybe "Battle for Pennsylvania".
Thanks again for uploading all those new islands Dobber!

@Dobber: Do you have any preferences? Puzzles, Fighting, Trade?

@Dobber: Do you have any preferences? Puzzles, Fighting, Trade?

I'm up for anything, although I don't muind a good fight every noe and again.
In the Endless games, Imake trade and keep peace with my neighbors until I need their land, then I wipe'em off the map.

I like logic problems so I might enjoy a puzzle.

Suggest one of each kind and I will go from there.

I hope it works out for you! Also feel free to modify it, if you need to, to make it work in your scenario.

This one (http://www.annopool.de/comment.php?dlid=8&PHPSESSID=b9c24a6240b1167257381abe8a6d36d6) comes to my mind as a fun little puzzle scenario made by "Linde", one of the better known Master Scenario Makers.

This puzzle is just hard enough to be fun, but not so hard that it becomes discouraging. I did it in one afternoon which is unusually quick for me!;)

Then of course if you wanted to combine trading, fighting and a very tricky puzzle all in one scenario you could download from the anno-pool the scenario that Frieden based his "Friends" contest on. It's a gooooood one!

I enjoyed this one, it does take a bit of time but was worth it. I played a big part of the time with thw F7 key to speed it up. I had never used trading in this fashion before. It was like being the Free trader.

Try Stormy Landing (http://www.annopool.de/comment.php?dlid=187&PHPSESSID=b9c24a6240b1167257381abe8a6d36d6#comm), and for a puzzle (and maybe a surprise for what is possible in Anno ;) ) Linde's Easter Contest 2000 (Part I) (http://www.annopool.de/comment.php?dlid=162&PHPSESSID=b9c24a6240b1167257381abe8a6d36d6#comm). Or try Frieden's Divide et Impera (http://www.annopool.de/comment.php?dlid=154&PHPSESSID=b9c24a6240b1167257381abe8a6d36d6#comm) (just find the right start, then it would be easy... ;) :D). You like trading? A very good scenario (and without a single ship or soldier) is Linde's Trade Caravane (http://www.annopool.de/comment.php?dlid=51&PHPSESSID=b9c24a6240b1167257381abe8a6d36d6#comm). Another puzzle, and not much fighting: The Escape (http://www.annopool.de/comment.php?dlid=26&PHPSESSID=b9c24a6240b1167257381abe8a6d36d6#comm) by Linde. Fighting? - Then Fight for the Homeland (http://www.annopool.de/comment.php?dlid=7&PHPSESSID=b9c24a6240b1167257381abe8a6d36d6#comm)!

... And after that, there are still the (IMHO) hardest Anno-Puzzles, The "Legend of Xidani" and "Friends"... ;) :D

Has anyone downloaded and tried Big World? If so, did you experience any problems with it? I reached a certain point when the game just started to close out after about 60 seconds of loading the savegame. I even went back to save games from earlier stages of my quest to beat it and they also closed to the desktop after about 60 seconds. I went to the main menu and started one of the factory made scenarios and had no problems, so I am thinking it is something in the logic of this particular scenario.

And I really hate that because I was on the verge of wiping out the white player.
Then I was going to attempt to do something about that endless stream of pirate ships that appeared to have reached about 50 in number.
