ok... problems.. I dled the firmware (2.02) and ran the program (installing the stuff on a disk). I then was unsure of what to do ( the "stuff" installed on the disk were a MS-DOS batch file, autoexec, an .exe file, jvx3, and a .LGE file, JV2DS202) I tried running the batch file and the .exe file but only received error messages. I'm not sure as to what program I should open the .LGE file with. I searched the dl page but there were no "instructions" or help... nor any that came with the files. Could you direct me, please?

normally you put the disk and boot the pc.
if the order in the bios says floppy, cd, hdd or cd, floppy, hdd the disk should boot, else you must change the order in the bios. plz check your pc manual from dell for it.

I have had! And I will. The weird thing was that after I had dled the latest version of directx I could install the game... then the game asked me to install the latest version of directx... a tad strange, no? It checked for updates then installed, and installed the newest version. Very confusing.
