When I tried to Install the game i received an error message after aproximately 1/3 of the game had been installed. The message read:
Patches
D:/data2.cab
Data Error. Cyclic redundancy check.
then the installation process was shutdown.
Please help me, I haven't been able to find any already printed answer, not on this site or on the ea games site. I've waited for this game so long.
Thanx in advance, johan.

welcome to the board.
one possible solution is a defect CD, but unlikely. which kind od cd/dvd drive to you use? CRC checks can occur with the copy protection system. sometimes a firmware upgrade of the drive solves the problem.
can you copy paste the info here from this tool plz:

if u have dell machine, first check the dell support website, if there is an upgrade for the drives firmware. if not, you can try the newest firmware on my postet link. BUT beware! it is risky if you fetch the wrong version.
did you check KoH on a friends pc ?

wait !
if you are going to upgrade your drive, you need a firmware for your drive
my provided link shows:
http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1852
LG GCR-8481B (48X IDE) 1.08, 2.02 (for DELL OEM drives)
both are from the dell ftp server !!!
1.06 you have

ok... I'm a tad confused.
On the dell support website, having typed in my computers code, i get a choice between the two drive firmware files previously posed (NEC NR-7900A HH 24X CD-RW, NEC NR-9100A HH 40X CDRW ) to download. In your last post you (and the link posted) speak of two (as I take it) other drive firmware files (updates): 1.08 and 2.02. Then you state that I'm running on the 1.06 version. If all this is correct, fine. But I'm not sure which of these four files to download, and seeing as their downloading/installing could prove fatal, I being a bit overly prudent. If you could just tell me which one you've recommend me to use, I would be greatful.

as the dell support offers only firmwares for sony drives you can try one of these:
http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1852
1.08 - ftp://ftp.us.dell.com/rmsd/BR75624.exe
or
2.02 - ftp://ftp.us.dell.com/rmsd/BR77604.exe
but be CAREFULL with this. read the instructions carefully

you mean to say that I don't have a sony drive, thus cannot download the firmware that the dell support offers?
Webmaster

right, your drive is from LG/goldstar
the original drives within the machine identified via the service tag has a sony drive.
maybe it was replaced? it was a special? or something like this.
but http://forum.rpc1.org is the first place to find the correct firmware.
so the 1.08 or 2.02 should do the job.

ok, I'll dl the 2.02 (from your direct link3 posts above)... but that wont fudge up my previous game installations will it? I wont have to reinstall stuff, right?

no, the drivefirmware has nothing to do with the data on your harddisc(s)
