Who here has seen Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King?

I also have seen it and i thought it was awsome and this was the best part out of the 3.

My favorite sceen was were Legolas takes down one of the Elephantes(which are freakin huge) and then Gimli says thats still counts as one Kill.

Just talk about this movie.

Well, I'm quite conservative about making movies of books, especially about books like LOTR. There where some things I didn't quite like, because Jackson took too much liberty and changed things from the book. But in general, yes, theese are good movies.

One thing though, Theoden was a much better speaker than Aragon.

Great movie!!! My favorite scene - when the Rohirrims attack at the siege of Minas Tirith or when Faramir tries to recapture Osgiliath or the last battle at the Black Gate or... man, this movie is GREAT!!!:) Although, there were some stupid things and the cleansing of the Shire wasn't included:(

I also like the seen, more to the end, were the Rohans charged dow torwards the orcs and trempled the orcs and then the Elephante charge.

The Film is quite simply awesome. Jackson had to make changes from the book - largely because the pace of a film and book are very different. I have read LOtR many times and did not beleive anyone could do such a good job of converting it to cinema.
WP P. Jackson.

My favorite scene was when the rohirrim charged down the hill and took down the orcs; I will explain it like this: It was like a lawnmower cutting the grass. The scene with legolas and Gimli was indeed the funniest (when Gimli says: "That still counts as one"). What do you mean 200 minutes longer? The first 2 movies where each a bit less then 3 hours and the third one is 3 h 30 minutes.

I never said 200 minutes longer.

If you check my post it said 200 minutes long longer. I am sorry about that i forgot to put a comma between long and longer.

And actually it was 2 hours and 20 minutes long (200 minutes)

Oh i also remebered the seen were the ghosts took down and elephante that was pretty cool.

The extended versions of the movies are far better than the originals I think. Especially concerning The Two Towers.

I thought it suxed.
They killed the movie for me with the undead charging into Mordor's hordes. In the book the undead didn't even fight, cause everyone got scared of them of just seing them, and there never was an undead-vs-orcs battle, just against the corsairs of Umbar.

The battle of Pelennor fields was won by humans, with a zillion casualties, not by some greenish undead that look like out of a third rate terror flick.

Peter Jackson also failed to portrait all the feudal relations between Gondor and its vassals. There was not Prince Imrahil of Dol Amroth, nor Forlong of Lossarnach, Dervorin of Ringlo Vale, Duinhir of Morthond, Golasgil of Anfalas, and so on. The High King of Gondor was High King for something.

Oh, and the no orc put a feet into Minas Tirith in the book, because at the very moment that the huge ram, "Grond" (that was awesome :D ) broke the gates, the Rohirrim blew their horns and charged onto the right flank of Mordor's army, and seing this, the men of Minas Tirith sally out and charged into Mordor's center, and lastly, the corsair fleet appears flying the flag with the White Tree, the flag of the King, and loaded with men from the south, who couldn't come to the aid of Minas Tirith before because of the corsair threat, and Aragorn leads them into a charge on Mordors rear-left flank.

So, one of the greatest battles of literature was given away to a mass of "mighty green undead".
What a crap.

Otherwise the movie is pretty good, but this little thing in the Pelennor fields killed it for me, and now I hate it because of the high expectations I had. And I'm not complaining of PJ taking liberties in the adaptation, but of him completely missing Tolkien's message of sacrify and the terrible cost of victory.
