I doubt that he has the bomb, but he certainly plays with the atomic fire. ;)

And he knows for sure that he will not be touched by the Americans even if his Chinese allies drop him - provided he makes the U.S. believe that he has nukes. The even bigger problem is, however, that he might export parts of the nuclear technology (or radioactive material) to those who pay most for it. :bash:

Well there is a possabilty that he is gonna use them . And even worse. Bush will surelly try stop the development . First comes peacefull negotions . North Korea will be pressured by many sides haveing all the same request - stop the nuclear development. If that doesnt work and the development still runs . Bush will prepare for war , first by teaseing north korea by airstrikes from air bases in south Korea . Bush wil try to gather his army . But that would take some time, maybe 1 year or 2 the cause of usa`s main army is still holding iraq . They will stay there until order and stability is established . the army in iraq wil be transferd to south korea with addiational reinforcements ( im not sure really sure he maybe will surprise kim by attacking him from another front then south) . Im sure atleast one of this will happen if north korea doesnt get convinced by the man to man deal .

My history-teacher told us today an interesting theory:

It could be that the threat with the nukes is also there, to show strengt to the own people. Because there may be some Rebells( I think there are some for sure) and the regime hopes that they can impress them with this.

well that might be a good reason 2 the stanlinistic countrys always build robots and big missles so they have a prove of achivement , and an prove that they have high military status , to show that they arent afraid of any country .
but i dont think they would waste a good bit of there econmy for nukes if they didnt feel threatend . bush mnade a little mistake calling them a member of the axis of evil .

I think Kim Jong Il is a problem for the whole world. For me its real, that he has nuke power in his state. And when he want to attac, it will no problem for him, because the nuces stand in his garden. We can only hope, that the financial problems will hide him.

well jay dont be afraid he doesnt have any plans to invade europe just yet , his biggest concern is usa . aslong as they have power he doesnt dare to use nukes. i dont mind him haveing nukes aslong as he doesnt use them . i dont think he will even have an plan to invade uss. we havent been involved in communist poltics in years so i dont think he will ever give a thought.

If he does have them I doubt that the USA will go in for 2 reasons.

1.) His economy is so bad that the country will eventually collaspe.

2.) If we did decide to attack him, many south Koreans will die. Kim has 1,000 altteray peices pointed right at Soul. If we attack then I think Soul will be shelled to a huge degree and many South Koreans will die.

but i doubt that usa wont react if he uses a nuke . if they dont uk will and sooner or later usa would additionally add an army to support the british. the battle would be harsh . heavy looses would be on both sides . ops i forgot china . they would charge in and support there negibhour stalinstic country . unless usa trys to negotiate and make some deals which intrests china , and if that doesnt succed usa and uk have to draw there armies back and sound the reatret. thats one more reason added to your list largeyfry.

China is strongly against North Korea in this matter. They will surely not support them because China wants to remain the only nuclear power in the area.
