I don't think I can introduce rebells the way I want - KoH is a bit restrictive here...
But yes, we can very precisely define costs of buildings. I could make the Swordssmith cost f.ex. 1 Gold per turn, and make the Master Swordssmithy cost additional 3 gold per turn. When only advanced buildings cost a lot of money this will stop the player from achieving a balance like +500...
I don't know yet how to throttle down the trading revenues without rendering small kingdoms paralyzed.

my suggestion: make advanced (but only advanced)military buildings cost a little and don't put trade outcome down. This will lead to specialization of provinces - some wil be for buying troops, some for economical power, but making very strong town in availability of military units AND dtrong fortification will make it very expensive, so inefficient.

IMO the cost should be low, not higher than 2/3 of town gold outcome in average (to make the player able to invest some money, have some knights and also buy exotic goods) When buildoings will have some constant upkeep, they should have lower starting upkeep.

PS: yes I meant "how", not "why" of course

every time i try to open the map with the mod files it says - the compressed maps are corrupt. Will you please describe the problem a bit more precise?
When does the error occur?
Which map?
What is the exact error message?
What happens after the error?
Which version of the mod?
Which version of KoH?
Did you modify anything else in your KoH?

Maybe I can help when I know something about the problem. :go:

"just after i click on the map"
Which map? Do you mean the political view?
"the main glory of god map"
I didn't create any maps. Why do you refer to "my" map?
"and im still at the windows deskboard"
The error occurs in windows? Does Koh start up?

I think we have a major problem with understanding each other.

Ah, I see! You mean the .zip-file (also called "zip-archive") is corrupted. That's a task for the webmaster. I'll tell him as soon as possible. :go:

The webmaster told me he would investigate on the problem.
However, even if the error still occurs:
Download the file. Try to extract the files in it.
Possibility a) There is a group of folders and files in the .zip, you can extract them to your koh-folder after removing all other mods and you're fine.
Possibilty b) The is one file in the .zip called something like "gog-1.4[1]". Extract the file to your desktop. Open the extracted file again using your zip-program. Now the correct contents show up and you can extract them to your koh-folder.

An update on GoG-1.5:
The current version works great. I needed 9 hours to become the mightiest nation in europe and I think I only managed that with a lot of diplomacy... :go:

I used WinRar 3.42 and all was fine

Angryminer

@TKS: Yes, might be a problem with your archiver. I used WinRar 3.42 from this (http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm) site.

@GoG 1.5:
A list of changes until now:
- Modified the techtree.
( "->" means "can be upgraded to")
Training grounds -> Armory -> Chainmail Workshop -> Scalemail Workshop -> Platemail Workshop
Taxcollector's Office -> Market -> Merchant's Guild
Stonemason -> Sculptor's Guild
This gives you the possibility to build more structures in one town, giving the AI the possibility to recruit advanced troops nearly everywhere. Works fine.
- Modified construction costs
Works fine. The AI heads straight towards basic military buildings, enabling advanced troops early.
- Multiplied amount of troops and their price by 1.5 and further modified prices of units
Works fine. The battles look quite impressive now and troops have more value. I found myself really, really sad that I lost about 800 soldiers in one fight because that meant costs of about 15000 gold while I had a balance of about +120 per turn.
The AI's recruiting-behaviour was also tweaked this way and it works fine. The AI's armies look good.
- Lowered financiel bonus from highly evolved towns.
Towns will not generate high amounts of money "out of nothing".
- Introduced costs for advanced military buildings
Advanced buildings like townwalls will cost upkeep now. I still have to tweak with this but it already keeps big kingdoms from entering a stage of "financial paradise".
This one was encouraged by Elvain. We both had the idea and he encouraged me to also implement it in GoG. Thanks Elvain! :go:
- Lowered trade revenues.
Now a trader will not be able to generate over ~25 gold coins per turn. That is about the same amount of money as a trader would generate when governing a province.
- Tweaked the AI towards more espionage and expansionism.
Looks good. There is always something happening but it doesn't look "chaotic". Empires arise, empires fall, empires remain, everything is possible.
- Remembered myself to make the player use more crusaders and Jihads.
Yay! This is fun! You should try it out yourself. Get control over papacy and call three crusades in a row against some pagan/muslim kingdom you are at war with.
There is no better thing than enriching yourself in the name of god  .

If you have any comments, be free to speak them aloud. :go:

Great work, this is suitable comment I think.
Looking at changes, one thing dissatisfies me. Techtree in this form cut randomness and possibility to create various towns. I know that this feature must be done like this, becasue AI doesn't handle with smart developement but it is sad :(
Two more words: Carry On!

Thank you for the featback! :go:
When you want to stick with the old tech-tree you should take a look at the next version of Elvain's mod. We develop quite parallel but in slightly different directions. :go:

I've tried your mod and can honestly say that it was what I've always wanted. This adds a new layer of difficulty to the waaay too easy standard game.

I've not yet tried all aspects of it, but I'll do so and bring you some more feedback. The only thing I think of at the moment is that trade revenues are a bit too tuned down. Otherwise I like the new way to look upon gold. Never have I cheered so much over a 1000 gold ransom 3 hours into the game.

Excellent work!

Thank you very much for the positive feedback.
I've been testing a bit with Glory of God 1.5 but I wasn't able to remove the essential problems of KoH (like the extreme growth of the player's might after a destinct point). Once I have the beta of GoG 1.5 ready for a release I will get the file online. Just to give you a look at my current work...
