Alright iv been playing anno form my libray wich has computer games you cNA TAKE HOM. i started playing it about the first year it came out on my old pavillion windos 98 celoron procceler basic old school computer.

About a year ago i bought a $3000 computer with widows xp on it and now i can not play it and my old computers trashed. Every time i install it it says Fial name too long> I have been veiwing this form for about a week now and i have gone to the download site many a time and i tried alot of the stuf but i dont no much about computers im only 14 can some one please give me a path that will alow me to install this game. I live in ameraca so i gusse i have the american version or wahter it means. i would Be greatly obliged if i could have dumbed Step by step instructions i tryied that one pacth for The german vesiton that install helper but it would not accept my cd. :bash:

Do you have administrator rights on your PC, or are you assigned as a user? If you are not administrator, you will need to get the administrator tochange you from user to administrator. You must have administrator rights to install, and to play the game.

You may also try the Anno Installer (http://www.newscenterx.de/downloadassistent/dlass.php?action=dload&id=28) created by Ghostwalker. It would be nice if you could report here if and how it worked. :smile:

What version are you trying to install? Is it the '1602 AD' or ANNO1602?

These install to different directories and have different problems. On the link to Timski's link of solutions they show a registery solution but that would be for the ANNO1602 only.

The American version I have installed runs well for me with compatibility mode on but the German KE can not find the the disk when compatibility mode is on.

Which version?

AFAIK only the basic version (not the Gold Edition) generates that error message under Windows XP. The Gold Edition has an installer for WinXP included...

It woked and i am playingt now I also just bought Anno 15043 form the e astore but it is currently on back order dose any one know how i can get a copy of this game other than the ea store.

You might try a seller called hogster from Lancashire England on ebay. I ordered it from him and got it within a reasonable time frame. If he still has any there are about 16.00 for the game and shipping handling

I paid hogster 9.95 for the game. The rest of the charges were shipping and handling

Some of the shipping charges from the US are higher than the ones from England. I paid over 16.00 shipping for a game from ebay that was sent from Ill.

@mamaWB When you bought 1503 from England, did you get the add-on also?
I have considered getting the UK version and the addon so I could play multi-player.

I am sorry to disappoint you as far as Multiplayer in 1503, it never was implemented. Does not matter which version you have, multiplayer was not part of the add-on. I have the UK version of the add-on and there is no multiplayer.

There is an implemented multiplayer in 1503 and it works quite well. But it was deactivated because there are some bugs that can cause the game to become severly instable.

However, there is already a 1503-online-gaming community around.

But if it was deactivated, how are people getting it activated?
It was my understanding that you had to have the original German version(before updates) in order to attempt the MP. That they removed the file from all subsequent versions of the game.
