you have unpacked all those 3 .pak diles by PakMan? and there was no overwriting when you were copying files from HR folder to KoH directories?

make yourself sure that the files are copied into right directories and then everything shuold be ok. I'm sorry I haven't helped you before, I'm kinda busy at the time...

this also answers question when will HR.05 come. In fact it is done, but tested only about 2 hours...and now I have almost no time to test the mod

but I can send you version which is not tested properly

Elvain, I thought about doing an "user-friendly" installator for your mod to help people avoid such troubles in the future but to do this I need a programme to unpack the .paks from the command line, does packman support it? I seem unable to find any docummentation for packman, even the readme...

A user friendly installer would be great. I'd love to try this mod, but I know very little about doing this sort of thing. It keeps me from even bothering.

Oh, that's really nice idea. I'm pleased to see such interest. I would do it but I really don't understand programming and such things, I can only do some primitive things like modding the game...

I think that PakMan supports it, but to be honest I'm not sure what is Command line.

There is for sure at least readme file in Pak Man. For more info about it ask Tempest, the creator of PakMan.

do you have american or european version?

probably European as you say you are Bulgarian.

The patch improves the game a lot. It's available on KoH oficial website.

This mod is not an official patch, but user mod, it's not done by the game developers but by me... read the first post and you'll get info about this mod

I posted the question in Packman thread, but no reply, he lists there 2 downloads, one complete with the readme is down unfortunately, the other is ok but has no readme... so if anyone has the readme please let me know... As for the installer I'm no programmer either, but it's a fairly simple, I'll just write a script that'll check for unpacked paks, unpack them if they're not (here I need command-line utility) and only then extract the rest of the mod.

@Borsook:
You can use the files from Elvain's zip-file, add some of the missing files (all of them are in texts.pak, because the folder and subfolders of /texts/ are loaded differently from the others) and repackage them. Then the installation is as easy as the other mods. In fact you could use a self-extracting-archive as an "installer", though I tend to prefer .zip-archives.

Angryminer, I might do that, only trouble is it would make the package larger, though probably we don't have that many people on dial-up nowadays.

Well, we're talking about (maximum) 100kbyte more or less...

i must be an idiot, but I downloaded this mod, replaced the old files with the new ones as I understood the directions, and when I choose a nation it kicks me back to the desktop and says no bytes of memory.

anyone know what my problem is? did I forget something?

By "replaced old files" Do you mean "I've extracted the packs using pakman then then copied the subfolders from the mod folder into the game folder overwritting some files"?

I got it finally, been fiddeling with it most the afternoon then as I thought it would just click eventually seems to be up and running well.

have not really played it yet but looked at the new buildings and built an armoury to make sure that was all changed, and the maps are differnet so I did something at least half right :p

No, unfortunately it's not that simple, adding texts is not enough, one would have to include maps and defs also... so back to the previous idea...

Angryminer

You don't have to include additional defs. And no additional mapfiles. In all folders beside /Texts/ you can place only the modified files and it will work perfectly.
On the other hand all /Texts/-subfolders must be complete each for itself. When a subfolder of /Texts/ exists all files that are supposed to be there will be read from there and only there. That's why you need to add unmodified files in the /Texts/-folder.

I already did this when copying HolyRome's texts and descriptions to GoG, and as you can see, GoG is not so big. Even with the unmodified files.
