Rome Total War

Anybody seen this? If you haven't, check it out at http://www.totalwar.com. I think it's going to be yet another 2004 game highlight, after KoH. Anyone else going to buy it?

Rome Total War looks GREAT!!! The graphics are so much nicer then Medieval Total War. Instead of using sprites on the 3D battlefield they individually render each guy now. I hope they can pull it off because I love Medieval Total War.

Rome Total War certainly looks interesting and given the delay it the improvements over the earlier games in the series will be, or should be, more than cosmetic. And those games were and are themselves excellent. The only problem is that there are still a good few months to go before release.

yea, it should be out just in time for summer. Good for me, so I don't fail all my classes from playin it too. Although I can't say the same for KoH, haha.

I think the poor reception on the TW forum (http://pub133.ezboard.com/bshoguntotalwar) to those Cecil B. De Mille Egyptians and those Robin Hood barbarians might be one of the reasons for the delay. Time Commanders on BBC2 had both Late Roman legionaries with oval shields and Ptolemaic phalanxes so CA might be giving historical authenticity more attention. That is only a not a particularly informed guess but given that some of old unit info - the weekly releases - is no longer valid, it is possible.

Sorry, mate. RTW's coming out autumn 2004, so we'll have ages yet to wait for it. (:angry: :angry: ). That's one reason I'm looking more forward to KoH, since it's closer in sight. As for the gallic foresters::bash: :sick: :nono: :sad: :angry: :mad:
