What happend to Germany yesterday?! I don't get it, IMO they let the Italians win, the Germans folded. I think Poland in the group match gave the Germans a tougher match but that didn't seem to bother them.
Schweinsteiger should have started and Odonkor should have come in earlier, but why didn't he use his speed more often when he was in?!

I'm also surprised that my comment about Germanys two main goal scorers come from Poland passed without any reaction. Sensitive topic? If so, why?

Odonkor is poop.

OK, you should know, first time I've seen him is in this world cup.
But he impressed me as a subtitute anyway. And it wasn't his fault Germany didn't win, it was the other guys who already played for 80 minutes...

@Richard: Why bye? There's still one match left, and we'll win that!

It was really unlucky that we got this damned goal in the last minute...pretty much like in the final against Brazil in 2002...

Yes, I think so, too.
And they play the same amount of games as the World Champion do.

bye because Germany won't be able to go for the first price. Sure they still have 1 more match, but that's for 3rd/4th place, which doesn't really matters.
I really though Italy was going to lose, but luck tends to change things.

At least Portugal lost yesterday, they deserved it:hello:

The differnce imo was that the Italians stayed focused the whole game while the Germans were already in the penalty shoot-out with two minutes left...:nono:

yes ..and the most important difference was ..italy scored two golas..germany zero.
'Cause our trainer was a coward.

Hi, why do you think he was a coward?

Frieden

I think he's been a coward 'cause he didn't try to win the game.
I got the impression they only wanted the penalties.
-> in the end Marcelo Lippi had 4 (!!!) atacking-players trying to make a goal, germany only 2.
bvy the way ..did the sucessor of Rudi Voeller react by bringing Huth ?
No, he did not :nono:

So it was easy for Italy again ...

He wanted the penaltys, because it was Germanys best bet at winning. Remember the referee had thrown out one of germany;s players. Was 11 against 10, Germany couldn't afford to leave the defenses to go make a goal cos Italy could easily use the counter attack and bypass Germany's defense. So he did the right thing on waiting for penalties and leaving a strong defense.
But the Italians got lucky just 2 minutes before they were going for the penalties and won. The second goal, germany just let them do it, They knew Italy had already won and there was nothing they could do in less than 1 minute.

Hm, your sight of the thing seems to be not too wrong.
I really was surprised about the substitutions of Lippi, an italian coach brings in a lot of forwards!
And the reaction (or not-reaction) of Klinsmann wasn't really suitably. So our unexperienced coach stumbled into the mousetrap.

Anyway, we are one of the best teams in the world (hopefully 3rd), and that's really much more than we could have expected before the WC. The german team developed very fast under Klinsmann, and the atmosphere in Germany is as good as it might have been in 1989 (when the wall splitting Germany was removed) :go:

Indeed.
I read in other newspapers in internet (england, swiss, austria).
They draw a new picture of the germans there.

Or in France: "Surprise ..the germans are sympathic. That's new for us "

Have a friend that was in Frankfurt during the WC for one week, he on the contrary thought the Germans was as arrogant as we here up north think the French are:eek:
"We" have always percieved the Germans socially to be close to us Scandinavians:sad:
