i don't like AOE 3 all that much. without the dropsites, the aspect of economy micromanagement has pretty much fallen appart. you just select five villagers, click on a cow, and you're finished. how boring.

I kinda like the game, although it has been strange at the beginning, I wondered how I can build the resource dumps
The only really bad thign is that you have to make a new Player everytime you want to play as a different nation. But the idea of a home city is quite nice.

its not really like that ;) its much more and more. you have to make defenciv things like walls towers and troops and warships to fight on the sea.
And much more and the economie is a little easier then first but its still nice

yes that true but its also nice because then you need to play with all nations and not just with one. So example you have a city at lvl 67 at the other s are still at 0 then you still got a challenge to play with to make those city levels higher

of course you have to do that too. but then again, in aoe 2 (and 1) it's the same. you still need good military skills to win an aoe 3 game, but you don't need economy micromanagement anymore and that's what i hate about the game. in aoe 2, you had to research the loom, then lure a boar close to your town center without having your villager killed. that requires skill. now compare that to the cows (or whatever animals there are) in aoe 3.
and where did the stone mines go?

I played some demo games and decided not to go with it. Being one of AoE's most loyal fans (still playing AoE II regularly) I knew that this wasn't AoE I was playing, it's a completely new game.
Of course, you can only make so many games in the AoE format, but this was just ridiculous.

Hey - I agree with you Frankish. I play AoE II regularly too and found AoE 3 too different. As well as Mythology by the way, but I liked that "short trip" to mythology because it was a completely different idea. But still, 3D graphics are not everything to make a game.

(finally got a machine to run the demo)
Well I finally got to try this one out, I installed the Demo and went through the tutorials. I will look at it further over the next several days, when I'm not playing KoH.

The combat is some what imbalanced, doesnt take much to slaughter a hole army. and the econmical income is the same old gather-on-click which is way too ordinary for strategy games these days. Otherwise it's a good game and multiplayer matchs are much more fun then campagins.
