but letīs confront the topic... there was a time when demos came out a few months before the release date is set to... hmm donīt know what the problem is... canīt imagine that it is so difficult to isolate some source_code and make it playable as a demo!!!

They want a good demo. Not a crappy alpha-pre-release with tons of bugs and things that won't be in the final game.

For myself, I won't buy another medieval warfare game until I play a demo. I was burned by the massively bad Lords of the Realm III, so I want a demo first. I have no problem running out to the store the next day to buy the full version if the demo is good. Heck, I actually did that with Lords II. I found Lords I in a bargain bin, played it for two hours, and ran out and bought Lords II. It was that great.
So I'm waiting with baited breath for the demo for Knights of Honour. If it plays well, I'll be at the store the next day. If not, that's what high-speed internet is for. I will only have lost a few minutes downloading and I just hit the delete button.

It's true, the demo is important! I can buy the game...but now I'm testing it!

Brother lightope has well spoken! Like him I buy LOTR 3 and after 10 minutes, I return to gameshop and sold this game. But I am sure KOH will be great cause it look like civilization 3 in some parts.

I have Civ 3 and played it a few times. I must be the only person in the world who doesn't like it. Too boring. It felt like all I was doing was just telling cities to hurry up and build the next project before the other guy did. And the battles were unbelievable. They had a swordsman beating out Marines. That's when I got frustrated and uninstalled the game.
However, I loved the diplomacy. It's the best I've seen out there. I can only hope KOH comes close.

I played lots of civ3. I'm a huge fan of civ3, but...
I happen to think that the diplomacy ****ed in civ3, especially on the higher levels of game play. When the computer trades between it's nations every tech they discover and will only trade with you if you offer something outrageous like 3 or 4 techs in exchange for 1 - something is wrong with the diplomacy... but that's off topic.
I hope the diplomacy is much better than civ3 ;)
I hope it's the best diplomacy model yet!

I think the best diplomacy out there was from
Superpower. Too bad the rest of the game stunk. But then I guess some people msut ahve felt otherwise as they are making a sequel.
I agree with you, Hurricane. I hope KOH has some good diplomacy.
