I really don't see the big deal, this all sounds like fairly standard operating procedure for the games industry. Which is by no means perfect, but there it is.

Regarding the North America release, it's very true that very few publishers are willing to touch a 2D game, strategy or otherwise. I'm not sure what it's like in Europe, but over here games sell on the WOW! GRAPHICS! aspect, gameplay quality is purely up to the integrity of the developer. Heck, you've all seen the number of requests for KoH 3D here on the forums. In NA, games are getting built with huge 3D engines that don't even need them. But if it's not 3D and all that, it doesn't get touched.

Beta testing looks like it was done pretty well actually. I've seen, and bought, games with clear evidence of far less beta testing than KoH. I actually don't see any real flaws with KoH's gameplay, aside from that it's a bit on the easy side, but the majority of gamers get angry when a game is "too hard".

As for contractual negotiations and what-not, I can hardly blame BSS for preferring to contract an entirely new project than wait around for contracts for patch-making. These guys have bills to pay, families to feed, games to make, and so on.

All in all, I think there's much ado about nothing, and a lot of lack of perspective with conclusions drawn and extrapolated from very little information.

If there's another patch, great, I'll install it. If not, fine by me. The things I'd want changed for KoH are likely beyond the scope of a patch, anyways. I'd much rather have a KoH2 ;)

What i don't understand is that BSS has signed a contract for 3 games (if i remember well) with Sunflowers and i just don't understand why the communication between SF and BSS is so bad (in the sense that there doesn't seem to be one). Aren't there regular meetings/phone calls on the next projects done by BSS and why can't SF know what BSS has decided?

I really hope to see a second patch (especially to see the ai using full armies).

I never equated "it's planned" to "yes, it will be so". What I'm saying is that "It Was Never Planned". They are Lying about that. I have no inside knowledge; I could very easily be wrong.

But a point to be made is that this company (whoever is responsible) has generated so much ill will among its customers that anything they say will now immediately be suspect. This is not how a successful company is run.

Unless immediate steps are taken to rectify the damage done by the company, expect those people who felt ill-treated over KOH to let people know what happened when Paraworld and Anon come out.

Look, there is no point on discusing the same thigns over again. They have been discussed 100's of times already, in each showing SF was the responsible for everything gone bad with the game. That SF beta tested rigorusly, is a COMPLETE LIE!!! So much that a patch was relesed a month later after release coz the people who bought the game were screaming how bad the game was with all the bugs. I'm really sorry Webbi, but I have honestly lost all respect for you:sad: , maybe your bosses are lieing to you, maybe no, but I can't let you do this.
So please tell your bosses at SF to STOP spreding their already bad reputation and poiting fingers just to get out of their mistake, coz the only direction all fingers should be pointing at is at SF's direction. Ban me if you like for saying this, I don't give a crap, just want others to see the truth.

following conclusions out of sadness is always simple and blaming others.
as i said before, a 2nd patch is only possible with SF and BSS working together based on a signed contract for this patch.

i never said BSS is to blame for everything, nor is SF blamable for everything. both companies are responsible for their actions and their customers of KoH!
