The first book of Hamalzah, written hundreds of years ago, describes the genesis of the Universe and the creation of the Quantar. It was discovered recently by the Quantar Alliance and then translated by archpriests Ser Arris and Bheliom and priest Aves.
Chapter 1: The First Suns and Planets
Far in the past there had been only darkness and uniformity. The endlessness of space was traveled through by clouds of dark matter without form, meaning or destination. And within this Chaos there were the Godbrothers, Hamalzah and Horridahl. Hamalzah, who was the older brother, was greater in wisdom and force and stability. But Horridahl was full of restlessness and change like the clouds of dark matter floating through the Universe. As the Brothers beheld the endlessness of this Universe, it was Hamalzah who spake: "Let it be here where we shall create worlds; worlds that lend stability to the Chaos; worlds that are a joy to view and that shall bring us delight". Then Horridahl spake: "Yea, let us create worlds that symbolise we brothers. They shall reflect your force and my movement; your wisdom and my ideas; your stability and my changing." Then Hamalzah took the dark matter from the clouds and created of it a Body, in the form of a perfect sphere and He gave it a part of His own force. And behold! It began to shine and burn with an endless fire. And then did Horridahl take the dark matter and formed it the way he saw fit. And he created Stone and Water, Air and Earth and Ice. And he took Stone and Ore and formed them into a sphere, and he took Earth, Water and Ice and covered the sphere with them. Yet by reason of Horridahl's instability the sphere he formed was imperfect. For, whereas it had Mountains and Valleys and Canyons, the elements yet found no order to their place therein. And Hamalzah brought reason to his brother's creation, for He sent the Ice to the heights of the Mountains and the Water down into the depths of the Valleys and Canyons and the Earth He set in between them, so that every element had it's place. And Horridahl honoured his older sibling, and began to let his world circle around his brother's, and Hamalzah directed His world's power to enlighten His brother's world. Then Hamalzah gave both worlds laws and order, so that they might be stable and be blessed by the Godbrothers.
Chapter 2: The Plants and the Animals
And so the two Godbrothers formed more and more worlds, Hamalzah's great suns with their godly fire; Horridahl's planets that mirrored his own variety. And because of their great work there was more and more formed matter and less and less dark matter. Yet the work was unfinished, and not yet has all the dark matter been formed. There it was then, that Horridahl looked down upon his worlds. And he disliked them for their stability. And Horridahl spoke to his brother: "My brother, the worlds that we have created are all a hymn to your stability, but where I ask you is the variety and the change which are part of me?" And Hamalzah spoke to His brother: "For as much as this is your wish my brother, I shall grant it. Let us create something that will bring change to your worlds, so that they be to your delight. But my worlds shall forever speak of stability". And so it was that Horridahl took of his elemental matter and shaped it into different forms. And these forms he placed into his worlds, some into Water, some into the Air, some onto the Earth and the Ice but none did he place into the Ore, for the Ore was an element of Hamalzah's stability. And Hamalzah blew His breath onto these forms and gave them life, that they be able to populate and to change Horridahl's worlds. And Hamalzah gave them laws and order, that they be able only to alter, and not to destroy, the godly order of Hamalzah.
Chapter 3: The Quantar
And so it was that many suns filled the Universe, and many planets circled them, and everything followed Hamalzah's order. But Horridahl disliked the laws and the order that Hamalzah had brought to all things. And therefore he began sowing seeds of Chaos upon the creatures of the Universe, so they would not follow the laws of Hamalzah. For Horridahl lacked the wisdom of his brother, and he knew not that everything was in need of laws and order that it not vanish into Chaos. And Hamalzah observed the actions of His brother Horridahl and he spake unto himself: "I shall create an example race for all our creatures; a race that will honour and love my laws and my order; a race that shall lead our creatures back to the path I have chosen for them." And so Hamalzah took some of the creatures and some of the elements and formed a new Race. He formed many of this Race and He shew himself unto them and spake: "Thou art my Children. Thou shalt share my wisdom. Thou shalt fight to uphold my laws and my order within this Universe". And He called his children the Quantar, which word at that time meant "Godly Honour" And the Quantar grew to become strong and were many. And Hamalzah looked upon them in delight, for they were ruled well over His creations. And everything, animate and inanimate, followed Hamalzah's order.
Chapter 4: The Punishment
But Horridahl had seen that Hamalzah was creating the Quantar and secretly he had given them a part of himself. And thus it came to pass that the Quantar grew unstable, and many no longer followed the Will of Hamalzah. So did the Quantar leave the Path of Hamalzah and jealousy and fear increased among them, and they fought each other and raped Hamalzah's creations. And Hamalzah saw what had become of His children and great anger grew inside Him, so that He spake to them: "Ye whom I had chosen to be my children have awakened my anger. I must end your leadership and punish ye. There will be a great trial for ye, where ye shall have to prove yourself worthy to me with none of my help. But behold! One day there shall come One among ye who shall be what ye once have been. He shall bring an end to your trial and lead ye back to what ye were. Until then, ye shall have to fight for your lives and for my good will, for this is the only way which leadeth back to my Blessing." And Hamalzah sent His Punishment in form of a sickness whereat not all Quantar were able to have Children, so they would not grow too many in number upon His creations. And He took His Blessing from them, so they had to fight for their sustenance, and that was always barely enough. And there was a great lamentation among all the Quantar.
Chapter 5: The Brother's Conflict
Horridahl saw his brother's action and asked him to cease punishing the Quantar, for they were also his Children. And so it was that Hamalzah learned of his brother's interference with the Quantar's creation, and he spake: "Thou hast thyself brought this Fate upon the Quantar Race, a stable race is what they were to be, to guard our creations. Now that thou hast corrupted their Souls they are to fight,so that they become what they once have been." But Horridahl did not understand his brother's wise words, for he did not have Hamalzah's Wisdom. And so he grew angry against his brother. And there was a great Confict between the Two. They fought over who should be the one real Guardian of Creation - Order, or Chaos. For Hamalzah desired Order, but Horridahl sought Change, and did not understand that it would lead back to Chaos. And their Anger grew to Hate, and they began to fight over their creations. And they fought with such fury that suns began to burst into supernovae, and great stones fell upon the planets and many people of the Quantar Race became insane while the Brothers' conflict raged.
Chapter 6: Horridahl Falls
Long time this conflict did the Brothers fight, yet in the end Hamalzah was victorious over Horridahl and He banned him to the farthest outskirts of Creation - that in his loneliness he might find his way back to righteousness. But Horridahl allowed himself to be consumed by his anger, and the godly part of him died, and Chaos took all that he once had been and transformed the once good God into a Demon. After the change his only goal became revenge. But, since he knew that Hamalzah was stronger in power, he first began to find ways to increase his own power. And then it was that Horridahl realised that a part of his former brother was in each Quantar that walked the Universe. And he would be able to use this power as his own were he able to make the Quantar curse and hate his brother too. So Horridahl came among the Quantar Race - to make them doubt their Creator Hamalzah and to confuse their souls. And Horridahl told them that they were abandoned by Hamalzah, and that they would find happiness instead in following him, and many Quantar followed the Traitor.
Chapter 7: The Coming of the Quantar Alliance, the Conflux and the Octavians
And a wave of uncertainty washed over the Quantar Race. But the wisest among them, Hamalzah's Priests, who continously had followed Hamalzah's Path, gathered to form the Quantar Alliance. And they again brought certainty to the Quantar Race and explained to the Quantar the reasons for Hamalzah's actions, which would lead them back through pain into stability.
And thereby it was that Horridahl found only few Quantar that would still follow him. And so he planned another way to bring fear into the Quantars' hearts. And he created his own Race, one Race that was full of Chaos, and he named them his Conflux and send them to bring fear and death upon the Quantar. And the Quantar cried out about the Conflux, for never had they had to fight like this. And the Conflux brought much pain upon the Quantar Race. And again Horridahl walked among the Quantar Race and spake: "Behold! Now Hamalzah seeketh to rid himself of all of ye, but I do not desire your demise, follow me and I will show ye the way to fight the Conflux". And in their fear, many followers came to Horridahl, not listening any longer to their Priests. And Horridahl gave them ships and weapons, and they learned the ways of the warrior. Fast they learned what Horridahl had to teach and soon a new Race was born. And they no longer wished to be Quantar so they called themselves instead Octavius, and laughed at what was once their heritage.
And Horridahl planned to use his new beloved Race against his brother, and so it was that soon the Octavians began to murder and steal and act to delight Horridahl. It was almost the end of the Quantar race, but the good Priests of the Quantar Alliance had not given up their Religion, they took the Punishment sent by Hamalzah and set them by their new fears and still carried on living Hamalzah's Will, to rid themselves of their sins past.
Chapter 8: The Escape to Dark End
And Hamalzah noted the acts of His former brother Horridahl and became angry. But also He saw the belief and faith of the Priests and His remaining Children and decided to take away the Punishment He had brought upon them. And so He removed the Sickness that had hindered the Quantar from multiplying for so long. And He brought them to the most far away sectors of His Creation, where no Conflux nor Octavian was to find them. And the Quantar Race grew strong again, the rediscovered lost wisdom in health and science and Hamalzah looked upon His Quantar in delight.
And the Quantar began to build, hidden in the asteroid fields of Dark End, the greatest Temple ever made. Even today there is nothing that can match this creation. And the Priests of the Quantar Alliance prayed to Hamalzah within these holy Halls and with them the entire the Quantar Race.
And Hamalzah gifted them with the Wisdom of Ore, He shew them how to mine and use the asteroids. And the Quantar honoured Hamalzah's Gift, and they mined Ore and grew wealthy and religion and work had become as one.
Chapter 9: Horridahl's First Defeat
And so it came to be that Horridahl's scouts found the Quantar in the depths of space again. And Horridahl was filled with hatred that the Quantar had survived and sent his minions again against them. But the Quantar Race had grown strong again and although the Time of Pure Beauty was not yet come back, still Hamalzah was with them. And the Quantar learned to fight and they fought well and Horridahl saw with hatred that his minions were forced back out of Quantar space, again and again. And he decided to bring the Quantars' end upon them himself and came to Dark End to destroy them. But Hamalzah was awaiting him and so began a great battle. But even as Horridahl and Hamalzah fought, now Hamalzah in control, then Horridahl - so the war waged in the Universe. Sometimes the Quantar routed the Octavians and sometimes the Quantar themselves must retreat.
But whilst the two Brothers strove against each other Horridahl had no way of leading his minions in battle, for they were not created by him, but by Hamalzah, Horridahl had led them only to the wrong Path. And thus it happened that pure Chaos once more began to gain control of the Conflux and they entered into the fight, slaying each and everyone in their sight. It was a battle waged over hundreds of years, but in the end Hamalzah managed to strike down His former brother, and Horridahl lay before Hamalzah, knowing his life should now end. But in His Wisdom Hamalzah only saw His lost brother and not the Demon that Horridahl had become and therefore He spared his life. He took away all the godlike powers from Horridahl that He might and once again exiled him, weak and weary, back to the very borders of the Universe. The Conflux, now lacking the force of Horridahl that brought them into life vanished back into the Chaos whence they came and were never again seen. The Octavian Race escaped into the most hidden sectors of their own space.
Chapter 10: The Races
With Horridahl's Fall the time of war had come to an end. The Quantar Race once again began to rebuild their Home. They grew and became again mighty and they created great Colonies. But hundreds of years passed, and many colonies became forgotten or became Races in their own right, with their own culture. Some even forgot their Creator Hamalzah. But Hamalzah wished all of them reunited and cognizant of their Heritage and so it passed that the Races met again. In this manner were the Octavians seen again and four great Races came to share the Universe - the Quantar, the Octavius, the Solrain and the People of Hyperial.
