Well I went to EB and guess what...

"Come back tomorrow."

Sounds like you have a problem. Railroads runs at 60FPS for me, but the Anno demo runs at 25FPS. Although I agree, Railroads is a huge disappointment for a Sid game.

Odd.. That Anno runs at 64 on my pc but Railroads grinds to a halt and crashes.

same here. they even cautioned me that it might not have been shipped overnight, so might not even be in tomorrow!

Well...

I called on the 29th and they said it will be in on the 30th.
I went there on the 30th and they said the ship date is the 30th, so the sale date is the 31st.
I went on the 31st and they said the ship date is the 31st, so the sale date is the 1st.

Sure enough, EBGames.com has today changed the date from the 30th to the 31st. Odd.

Any luck today? I saw on ebgames.com it says ship date 11/1/06

Yep, for the last three days, the ship date keeps being changed to the next day. I suspect that none of the retailers have received any shipments of 1701 AD in their warehouses, and probably have no idea when the publisher will actually ship the game out.

I wish this game was on Direct 2 drive or something like that.

yup, although gogamer has had its release date on Nov 2nd from the get go, so maybe they have the right date all along. Was hoping to get to play it this week but looks like wont be getting it till next. :(

I ordered mine through EB Games, they use Gamespot I discovered. At least the order tracking info I got came from Gamespot. when I checked earlier today the shipping had moved up from !0-30 to 10-31 which was yesterday, so  . Maybe it will ship today and when I check this evening it will be in transit  . I was hoping to get it so I could play some before I had to leave early Friday for a conference this weekend.

Three days in a row now, my local EB has told me to "come back tomorrow". And sure enough, EBGames.com changed their date again.

I really wish the developer would post a definitive ship date. They know... they can pass that info on. This thread is over 3 days old... do no admin/moderators read this?

I have been eagerly awaiting this game, but by the time it actually arrives, other games(NWN2, Warhammer, etc) will be out and will have taken my attention. My $5 toward the pre-order will probably be a waste since I will never pick this game up.

Missing ship dates, or broadcasting bad shipdates is near one of the worst things a game company can do when it comes to trying to penetrate the market.

ps (Digital downloads DO work. Check out Stardock.com (totalgaming.net) for a business model that does NOT require CDs)

I wish this game was purchaseable digitally. Like on steam or direct to drive.

I was planning to spend good quality time with folks from 1701 AD but I guess that will have to wait. Having said that this is really poor marketing... with most stores having no clue about the damn game and when it ships. Calling them makes no sense... when the website Gamespot website itself doesnt know of a ship date
Duh!!
Maybe I'll wipe the dust off on the AOE-3 and start playing that for a while....or even Simcity or somethin..
How;s CeasarIV?..The damn game keeps crashing on pc every 45 mins

The guy at my EB just fed me the same info as is on the website - "Oh, the ship date is November 1st so we will have it tomorrow." Yesterday the ship date was October 31st.

well I canceled my online pre-order from gamestop, ill just pick it up when its at a local store. :) now that I have a few other games to play, I dont feel the rush since no one seems to know the real release date over here.

Seriously lucky to get by next week. It takes time to ship, is not going to happen over the weekend. Tomorrow is Thursday. The last update says the November 3 Friday, so it maybe very well next week since time to ship.

I enjoy the German version, why wait?
