It already works in german section.
I just wonder if anyone is interested in such multiplayer.
- Each player would play 5 minutes
- then PAUSE the game and switch his kingdom to Ai(via cheat)
- then switch to the next player's kingdom (via cheat again)
- after this, save the game, send the savefile to the next player
- We would start as kingdoms with 1-3 (maybe only 1-2) provinces
- We will not be allowed to conquer more than 2 provinces of other player in one turn
We can also set up other rules (the number of marshalls, the use of spies against other players etc.) but I think that these minimalistic rules are enough
PS: another thingie is the version we use. Honestly I'd prefere to use my mod or at least it's mapchanges, but it all depends on you.
Standard is to use unmodded patched version and if you are used to HolyRome mapchanges I'd be very glad..

btw, here are nations I'd suggest using HR1.7 mapchanges

But if those who are interested prefere game without those mapchanges, let's go and play without them :hello:

so would anyone be interested in the game without HolyRome mapchanges?
or noone carees?

I'd be in it, leading the teutonic order of 1200 a.d. into battle.
Personally I'd say let's use Elvain's mapchanges.
Angryminer
so we are 3 :hello:
do you, kevincompton agree with using HolyRome1.7 mapchanges?
and with 1200 A.D.? so pick a nation for you...
1. Elvain - Armenia
2. kevincompton - ???
3. Angryminer - Teutonic order
I can start on thursday evening (CET) so on thursday I can pass the game to kevincompton. If someone wishes to koin the game, the deadline is thursday 19:00 CET
ok?

PS: what about the use of spies? is it allowed to use spies against other players?
I'd suggest to disable it, but we can test it  to make it harder

Spies aren't too powerful. Theys only are when you use them against a the stupid AI.
I'd say allow them. It'll take quite a while until we have any interest in fighting each other anway.
Oh, and I'm very open to new players. They may join whenever they wish. Just as long as there are no more than 4 human players - I'd like to rule over my country at least 25% of the time.
Angryminer
ok, so if also kevincompton agrees anyone can join also later...
and I agree that the maximum is 4 players in one game :go:
I'd join for sure, but I really don't have the time.
A comment, though: isn't five minutes very very short? I'd say ten minutes is still acceptable. Why do you think of five minutes?
Oh, also, a method might be: play, pause, turn AI on, save, send file; next player then turns AI off for his kingdom. That way you don't have to look at other's business. Of course, one can always cheat, but the method you proposed means that you cannot even miss the information of the next kingdom.. Just ideas.
Good luck! I hope there will be an AAR posted here

@Doux:
1. The five minutes are taken from the german game. Worked well over there. Also, with four players, you want to get a look at your kingdom once in a while. If each player played 10 minutes you wouldn't see your own kingdom for 30 minutes between the rounds!
2. About the switching: Remember that some kingdom is *always* selected. So if you don't switch before sending the savegame then the next player will see your kingdom. If you switch before sending the savegame you will see the his kingdom.
The latter procedure has the advantage that you see the enemy's court after you finished your turn, so you can't use the knowledge anymore.
The only thing I could imagin is making the procedure:
Recieve the savegame, switch to own nation/disable AI, play, switch on AI, switch to a *not human controlled nation* (papacy, f.e.), save, send to next player.
That way the next player sees the court of the papacy, not yours, and you don't see his court.
Angryminer
ok, so no restrictions about spies
5 minutes for a turn
just, kevincompton? did you chose a kingdom already?

any statement?
we will play patched vanilla with my mapchanges
and I think that switching can be done by anyone. If you wish to, you can swith to the next in the row (kevincompton to T.O. and Angryminer to Armenia) or you can leave there your kingdom and the next player will switch it himself.
I personaly do not care if you will see mine or not..
this evening I am ready to start, I just would like to know if kevincompton agrees on everything we agreed yet and pick a kingdom..
--
I think it's better to wait for kevincompton's statement about the rules before we start.
PS: Doux, I'm busy too, we all are, but I think that to find some 5 minutes for the multiplayed game once in a while is not that much...
if you are interested

@Doux: I really wouldn't mind if we had to wait two days extra for you to complete your turn. I think we're all very flexible regarding that. It's really just 5 minutes. Boot the PC, start KoH, play 5 minutes, save the game, mail it to the next player, shut off PC.
Also I believe that no one has any probems if one of the players wants to skip a round. Just forward the eMail to the next player and it's fine as far as I'm concerned.
Angryminer
well said, as usualy :go:

Everything sounds great! How soon will it start, because I'm in finals week now. If someone wants to take my place for this round I'll understand... but if it starts later I'm in. :)
what kingdom do you want to play?
PM me your e-mail adress and we can start tomorrow...
I will send the savefile first to Angryminer and you can be the one to finnish the round...

You still need to choose a kingdom, Kevin.
After that we're ready for the green light.
Choose one of these (http://img221.imageshack.us/my.php?image=europecoop1200be0.png) with a black box around their names. (Teutonic Order and Armenia are already taken.)
And it'd be nice to know wether you understood how exactly to change players, including switching on/off AI, too.
That way we'll have all info ready and Elvain can create the game. :go:
Angryminer
so? kevin? what is your kingdom? I need to know at least this for the start...
and if Doux wants to join (later) please tell me which are possible states you'd like to play...
Thanks, but I still have to decline to participate.. I'll follow your advancements closely! :go:
We (I and Angryminer) have already started this game today.
Here is

Armenian turn no.1
First Things to do.
1) The economy was in red numbers:
The king Levon II. and His son were bnoth sent to trade (king to Nicaea, prince to Cyprus, our main partners in the region. What made some small income.
2) improve the relations with my main partners:
I signed a non-agression pact with both Nicaea and Cyprus to have also higher profit from trading.
This may show up as a mistake as they are at war one with each other
The improvement of relations is needed of course to find potential ally against Jerusalem
3) improve the castle to prevent possible attack from Jerusalem. Build Inn and Granary and as soon as possible also fishmonger..
4) the thing that should have been no.1:
make the kingdom save from armies of Jerusalem. Build an army strong enough to give Armenia advantage over the crusaders.
In the first turn I could build no more than 3 squads of peasants.
Let's hope it will be enough to stand the attack!

Angryminer, your "AAR"?

Looks nice, I just have the impression that you took a very hard country to play for a game where the AI rules 2/3 of the time, Elvain. Am I wrong or isn't it even possible to recruit swordsmen in this region?
You are right it wasn't the best state. But hard and interesting and in very complicated situation, especially when at was since the beggining.
The units available are Akyndji, Spahis, Horse Archers, Axemen and Bowmen - generaly very poor units
But Even with peasants I won 2 of 3 battles in my second turn, and defended Cilicia from the attack of Jerusalem...
