Hello everybody,

I am trying to alter the requirements for the Univerity, I want to delete the requiry of the Scribe's office. How should I do this? Please help me out on this one!

Many thanks to Wildcat b.t.w., who solved my last problem, it was so simple that I am now ashamed!

Do that in Buildings.TXT

I think you'll find out how yourself, it isn't that difficult, and it's fun to find out for yourself how the files are built ;)

Is it possible to make more than the current number of building slots available?

Doux
28-12-2005, 12:42
No, I that wouldn't be possible. You'll have to make more upgrades of existing buildings if you want more buildings per town.

PLEASE can these images
A. Be removed or
B. Be made into a link
So that I don't have to wait and wait before I can even read the text? Thanks in advance, (s)mods.

1. Does Knights of Honor actually still read walking speed and such from the .UNIT files?
2. And does somebody know whether the army.in2 [unit listings, with all those "reserved"s] is still used and not obsolete?

For Units.TXTcontains much information that overrides and makes superfluous some other files.

yes, I thought about it.

btw, it seems that you made a big progress in modding, could you share (as I and Angryminer did) where we can edit what you have edited?
it would be the best to post it also here... in the way I and Angryminer did... what and in which file.. thanks

Nice work, Doux. You forgot a ; in the comment of the building-requirements, where the comment brakes the line, so I added it for you. :go:

I hope it will be of use to nurse new modders  . I'll add more in future, when possible.

That's fine with me Angryminer ;)

I wasn't sure about one thing I wrote so I didn't define it yet:

"chance = 100" means that the chance that the AI says NO/YES

chance = 80, does that mean that the chance that the AI says YES is 80% or that the chance that the AI says NO is 80%? I hope somebody else knows this. I tried to reason and think logically, but in the end got stuck

If anybody is planning on making new kingdoms that need new music here in a few months, let me know. I write mostly orchestral thematic scores as well as symphonic concert music. I'm actually in the middle of recording a rescore i did to the nice CGI trailer of KoH for demo purposes and cinematic scoring practice (i'm in no way affiliated with the publisher/developer). The trailer now has me interested in the game so I'm going to go to the store today and get a copy.

I have a game i think is similar called Medieval Total War and have had some success at replacing one of their original "mobilization" tracks with my own music just by naming my tune the same name as the tune i was replacing and placing the original in another folder. But if anyone knows the ins and outs of the music engine i'd be willing to help out in getting some interactive music into their mod.

I'm in the middle of a film score right now so am tied up for the next month or so and I'll be at the GDC in march, but other than that my schedule is relatively free after i complete this score. If interested in hearing my KoH trailer demo music, let me know and I'll send a mp3 out next week.

Thanks

That sounds interesting and I'd like to hear it! :go: Although one of the best aspects of the game is exactly the original music made by Glorian and it's great the way it is! If you haven't listened to it yet, you could download it from the official Knights of Honor site.

Sounds good (I hope). It really easily done, replacing the original music. You'll need .OGG files though, not mp3.

Yeah,

I actually have a OGG converter. I tested it with Harry Potter Prisoner of Azkaban and was successful at putting original music into the game. I tried to get KoH here in Los Angeles, but couldn't find it at my regular game stores so I'm gonna buy it online and test it as well. Should be ok I would think.

Thanks

hi new to KoH forums been reading all i can on modding want to try to make my own mod i tried elvain's HR 1.6 and i love it way better game much more chalengeing. (brought an old game back from the grave) so my questin is can you add a button to the province feature panel so you would be able to upgrade your land (with a large investment of course) so that each town can grow to become exactly what you want it to be.
Also can you add new options in diplomacy such as propose trade .. land for...gold ,land trade agreements peace ... you get the idea many improvements can be made in diplomacy to make for a more in depth diplomatic approach if you are rich you could possibly buy your way to victory or trade the province you cant defend with your neighbor for a better strategical stance.

thanks for the help and any other suggestions you might have to help a up and comeing modder

Well, thought I can't call mysefl a modder, I do enjoy editing games slightly, to increase their enjoyability, and there's just one thing I'd like to know... How would one increase the size of the units? I'd like to basically quadruple the size of all the units in the game (20 men-80 men), however everything I try ends up having no effect in the game...
