Is anyone out there who tried to install the UK patch?
Change language key in the registry file to UK and install?
Does that work?

Yes, and it does work with very minor issues (see previously mentioned issues in this thread?). Here's how: Regedit your registry. Be safe and back it up first and don't try if you don't know how to "recover" .

Anyway, find the registry entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sunflowers\Anno 1701 and Modify the entry for LANGUAGE. Change it to ENG (all caps) and the V1.02 Patch for the U.K. will install.

So far I have only launched a game and played for several minutes to verify the update so if you do try this be aware that you could have problems amd only do it if you must have the new patch, like me  .

Good luck and cheers  !

I never bothered changing any game file and the UK patch loaded fine.
Game indicates version 1.02. Didn't lose any save games or my profile.
Still haven't received the Chinese junk from the free trader though. :go:

Anybody that applied the first patch to their game should be able to apply the UK version of the second patch, since the first US patch changed the registry to identify the game as the UK version!

I just wish that the US version was the same as the UK version. I prefer British English anyway, and calling the game Anno 1701 is lot less of a mouthful that 1701 A.D.

It would make things easier to patch.

Well in Australia the game is called Anno 1701 but we have the US code ... even though we are a member of the English Commonwealth and obviously use British English language. Figure that one out.

For most that is true but there is a patch available from the WorthPlaying download link that is an "updated" v1.01001 patch that was put ther in Jan 2007. I believe that this is the exact sane patch as V1.01 but it corrected the LANGUAGE setting back to USA.

Anyway I was just trying to help those that were having a problem.

Unofficially, I have heard that the patch has been delivered to Aspyr, is awaiting their review and release! :go:

May I ask if that information is before or after Aspyr's email to zippyriver saying that they had no intention of releasing the patch right now?

It looks like Apple's jumping to the Intel bandwagon is taking all their time as they port Apple games to work on Intel processors. Gee! As a developer myself, I never liked having to develop for multiple platforms. Now even my non-work entertainment is affected by that %#^&@! company which should just give up and make nothing but iPods. :bash: And I wanted a Chinese junk so much.

This unofficial info was received by me after Aspyr's email to zippyriver!
