It would give you a chance to view your castles/towns without having to an enemy attack it.
And this is a make-or-break for people? Pretty shallow, I think. But then, what makes a game great is up to one's own opinion.
If it's really this big a deal to people, then Sunflowers should think about including it. As someone said, if you can get a close up of a battle, there's no reason why you can't without one.
Now, I don't believe for one second that KOH isn't going to sell simply because of no zoom. Sure, there are two or three who will boycott the game or return it. There are also two or three who will boycott the game or return it because the CD wasn't pink instead of blue. Is it really worth the man-hours for Sunflowers to invest in a zoom that adds absolutely zero to gameplay?
I would much rather see Sunflowers invest in the time to make the game eitehr 3D or a rotating camera so we can see behind walls. Or at least a button to turn walls translucent to see units behind them. That makes better gameplay.

Also... one of the nicest screenshots is of a knight attacking an enemy camp.
You get the feeling that the screenshots were publicity stunts and nothing more. Nice neat little encampments of troops? Viewing peasents working in a town with no soldiers around? Those "living pictures" where there was no fighting going on...
A knight attacking an enemy camp?
I the enemy is camping on the campaign view and your troops attack, they are still in their tents then you attack them. And if they have a marshal with the tactic skill (I think) they will be behind a fortfied encampment. Is this what you mean?
because it's in the game...

Or at least a button to turn walls translucent to see units behind them. That makes better gameplay.Actually KoH has this feature. Here (http://www.knights-of-honor.net//gfx/screenshots/scr_koh_0193.jpg) you can see it working.
But I have absolutely no clue how to enable it. Somehow it's Frujin's secret... :(

THis is in response to people who question my request for the Zoom cheat.
How can you say that it does not add any value to gameplay? IF stratergy is all you want , try playing chess on yahoo, dealing with several million interactive people is more challenging than any game. The fact of the matter is that people buy games due to 2 major factors. 1 is gameplay 2 is graphics. You cannot have one and not the other, it just doesnt work that way.
I quoted Anno1503 because its a classic example and perfect fusion of amazing graphics and versatile gameplay.
Prrof is I have been managing my city for the last 2 years and never got fed up of it.
This is the first time I have been let down by sunflowers. First I bought the expansion pack for Anno1503 which had very little to offer but still had the stuff I paid for...but KOH sadly is not worth $65 :silly: ;(
Its my personal opinion!! I was looking forward to zoom in into my various castles and watching my subjects go about their daily life. As someone correctly pointed out "Hello $19.99" for KOH very soon.
The sad part is instead of taking the forum's views and working on it...the concerned people seem to think they know what "we the pubic" want in a game better than us!!
OMG
Holy smite, that was "the button"...

"No news on the AI at this point in time as neither the programming nor the testing have been fully completed."
=> it is currently in development/improvement ;)
What about adding a door to the Keep.
Since the keep can be attacked if there is no outer walls, it should atleast have a door since peasants can hack it down.
Lord of The Realm 2 Had doors on their Keeps and it really adds to the gameplay and Gives the Archers more time. Also you could remove the Bonus added to the infantry in the keep and just have a door. It seems so silly to retreat back into the keep only to have no door! :nono:
What are all u guys on about ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Big deal, no zoom in stuff i don't want it anyway:nono:. The only people here speaking sence about the zoom thing are(sorry if i missed sum1 ;( ) Webmaster, Lighthope, Nadine Knobloch, Frujin(thanks for the "/" thing by the way)Resbect guys :hello: :hello:
KOH is a Great game and when the mods say the zoom cheat will crash then theres nothing we can do. its only an egg thing that lets you smile for a second. :)
Great new bout fixing bugs and stuff in the Patch i'm sure the MP stuff will be good but i can't use MP because it droppes every1 in game (as i asked bout here http://forum.sunflowers.de/showthread.php?t=2788 )
But still great news of the bugs. Thx Nadine 8)
Cya guys!!!!! :silly:
EDIT
@it1956 yea a door would be nice
@LordSandman yup i agree and i would like a pause thingy for Hard (when i get there  )
@The Saint yes i agree that games need gameplay and graphics but zoom in is not all off the graphices in the game :nono:
Well thats good, Like I said everyone who has posted likes the Idea, I hope they will add it. The German forum was the same thing, they liked the idea also.
Its weird to not have a door. I was looking all over for a key to close it! lol :nono:
The zoom function was there for reviewers and previewers to take screenshots. You could zoom in, and you just see what you can see in battle modes, except without armies. In that view, you coulnt do anything, no management or anything else, just for eye-candy. It had no use, and thats why its taken away (officially) from the game.

From my part...
Minor patches:
-The battles are so fast in the field that the location where it developes has low importance (except a fortified castle). The enemy rushes and the option "camp" in the battlefield its unuseful.
-Aragon was wider in the upper part of Saragoza (catalonian part + aragonese part (piece of navarre)). Saragoza belonged to Halmoads not to "Castilia" in mid period. and to Aragon in late period.
-The navarre flag was a golden chain crossed (like Great Britain flag) rounded by more golden chain with the form of a shield over a red backboard.
-The pope is called King in some messages by other kings.
Preferent Patches:
-The papacy shouldn't act as a kingdom and expand their territories. Its frontier size should be permanent. At the same time it shouldn't be conquered by " Catholic Marshalls".
Nor crussaders, nor Templars should be used by non-catholics, the same think for other religion-linked units.
-The skill "Admiral" don't actives the avility to build ships.
-A door keep could be fine. But the doors are so weak that I conquered Rome in a Blitzkrieg move early in the game, only with an army of peasants.
-The Royal avatars should be adapted to the religion of the main kingdom by default, until the player arranges a marriage. Play France, Aragon or "Castilia" with moor avatars is foolish.
-Fatal Historical Error: Hispania was all the Iberian peninsule under the Roman Empire. This means that Leon and Pamplona were part of Hispania in the past, and later part of the non-called yet Spain. (Spain= Castilla(included conquered Navarre)-Leon Reign + Aragon-Catalonia Reign + Halmoad teritories.)
In early period "catalonia province" was not called Spain (that can be offensive to some spanish and to some catalonians, not my case but...), enought calling it Barcelona (for Barcelona and Counties which desintegrated from the Hispanic March from the Franc's Empire) or catalonia (better the FIRST, but in extremis the second works...)
-A hunter "calmly" crossed the land while I was fighting through the "mele"... The so discussed matter about villagers working in the middle of a battlefield, remains unsolved.
I really donīt understand why the function of zooming was in the game allready... but taken our because it was no fun..... If it is in..let it in.... you donīt need to use it.... Fon one, I like it very much to have it in.... And hate to say... you did promise it was in it before releasing the game...
/me is dissapointed
Love the game big time though! 8)
Webmaster! Frujin!
First, why is a fact worth less than a promise?
Second, I have made threads where Frujin has replied several, SEVERAL! times. He said that there would be a zoom function in the full game! I suggest u Search for all threads where i have replied (Maizena) or where i have started the thread. U WILL DEFINATELY FIND IT!
I think its too bad, WAY too bad, if one of ur emplyees say something, and another says something else!
