"This game will be alot more fun to play then Lord of the Crap( i mean Realm) 3. "

I can't be certain yet which one will be the more fun, but I bet on KoH(That's why I'm here, afterall). But it always depends of the player type. Some people play and enjoy games like Warcraft, Starcraft that personally, I find overly boring and simplistic. I'm someone having fun with more complex games, turn based or real time.

cork2,

as confident as we all are about KOH, isn't it a bit too early to draw a conclusion now? before either are released? ;)

Wow..tough question. Those two are totally diffrent. I must say I really like the art style of Lords3..suits the game much better than realistic style of Lords2. Also..3D visuals are really nice(and that`s to them the battles in Lords3 will most likely be better than those in KoH).
On the other hand...KoH looks a lot deeper and closer to "complete medieval package".

Overall. I would say that IMO Lords of the Realm3 will be more fun, while Knights of Honor will be more rewarding/satisfying.
If I will want to relax and simply have some great fun I`ll play Lords3..as Impressions always has made insanely fun games..they hever have much to do with reality, but they are simply pure joy to play.
And if I`ll feel need to try something deeper, to achieve something, instead of pure fun..then KoH will be the game I`ll choose, as it might not give me instant fun like Lords3..but it should give me much more satisfactiona nd sense of achievement.

Anyway..I`ll be getting both for sure :)

You should member that crew Impression are changed and Lords3 in first look was completely different game than now... I remember that in previous idea of Lords3 was three type of resources : food, gold and weapons....And many others ideas, which gone with lead developer Ironrod for example....Man who worked on all Lords of the Realm series.... Another developers from Impression was made Stronghold.... New people in impression made new ideas.... Only tittle is the same

Yes..the people changed..but judging from lords of Magic..that might be a good thing :) From the movies and people`s opinions(well..those that are in beta)..it`s simply damn fun..not realistic or anything..but simply fun :) I simply have a good feeling about this(just like with KoH)..I hope I won`t get dissapointed in any of those.

If we look at this game only for fun, not realistic feeling and powerfull ruling of kingdom, then you're right. But comparing list of options of Lords3 and KoH, then KoH is much better and gives us more ways to reach the goal.
But you're right. Some peoples wish to play on simple games like Warcraft III or similar games to it....And those people usually not play on games like Europa Universalis or Civilization for exapmle... Game which aren't simulation has much better sales over the world than complicated and very realistic strategies. Well, I think that KoH will has both of feeling: fun and simulation ( without cartonish grapgisc at all...)

Well..I just don`t see a point in comparing those two games. I`m sure both will be excelent. But comparing them just because they are set in medieval times? That`s like comparing CrimsonSkies to IL-2 Sturmovik just because they are both about flying :)

It`s not like there`s only space for one awesome game...if Lords3 will turn out to be great game..it won`t automaticaly means that KOH will turn out bad and vice versa. I just can`t understand why instead of being happy than 2004 will hold at least two very good medieval strategy games..some people just try to make some kind of war between Lords3 and KOH. It reminds me of this ridiculus Airbucks vs Airlines fights I`ve seen many years ago :)

I want to play something simplier from time to time..not as simple as Warcraft3..but simplier than Europa Universalis. Lords3 has promising tactical level(I think more promising than the one from KOH..but on the other hand..it`s all about battles while KOH offers more options), definitly better than Warcraft3. Personaly I`m a big fan of CloseCombat and CombatMission series..despite the fact that I love them both..I still like to play Blitzkrieg, SuddenStrike or GroundControl from time to tim, just because GC is simplier than CombatMission doesn`t mean it`s worse game..it`s just diffrent.

I agree. But all old fans of Lords3 series want to see Lords3 like previous games of this series...Different, more modern, but same feelings... When a few years ago I saw information about Lords3 it was different game like today. It was more simulatious... It had more resources, trading options etc... Many...many players who loved Lords1&2 was very dissapoint in fact that Lords3 will not be hybrid of real time and turn based game.... IMO this game should have another name or something. Lords of the Realm was true medieval strategy simulation!! Not simply game like Warcraft or something! Really, this game will be too different that previous parts of series... But I understand Devs, good title has better selling...

Fortunatelly, many of us pay atention on KoH. Yes, it will be in real time, but give us true feeling of ruling whooole Europe using maaany options for it. It will have many options which was anounced in Lords3 and more!!! I remember when I saw screenies from KoH and I thought : This is like Lords of the Realm!!!Thanks of God!!! But today I see that this game will be more different and it will be game which was created never before!!!

And one more thing....on this forum we can talk about Lords3...But in Lords3 forum we can't talk about KoH, because....Moderators simply deleting any posts about KoH....
Maybye this is true that this games will be a little bit similar? Not only in medieval times, but a little bit more?? I joined on Lords3 forum almost 2.5 years ago....And I know what I say...

I also have this feeling about KOH that they devs has sto.. - no, it is not political corretness to say stolen - they got inspired ;) by other games in the KOH genre and then perfected it :D

I my "world" it is wrong to stea....errrrm get inspired from other games coz this is the way games evolve and we the players benefit from this. It seems like the devs has studied the those games which currently is on the market to be inspired and then perfect the things other devs have had troubles with.

To put it short: BSS prevail where the rest of'em fail ;)........and that a damn good thing if ya ask me
:D :D :D

KoH is VERY different than the LoR series. If you say stealing, then all who develop and have developed a FPS game have stolen from Wolfenstein or Doom. It is also important to point out that inspiration and stealing are two very different things. Stealing is a crime, inspiration is driving artists since centuries and allow them to evolve. I personally adore LoR2 but the game is somewhat different and a comparison between both would be like the banna and apple thing.

Come on :) We weren`t serious about this "stealing" :)
It`s just that KoH looks like it`ll take the best elements of other grand-strategy games(besides TotalWar battles..but in a game like KoH..such detailed and massive battles aren`t really needed) polish them and add a lot of new ideas. Games are totally diffrent media than books or movies..and here it`s very good thing to learn from other developer`s works and improve on your own

When you invent new game with ball - whatever rules you invented - the ball is always "the ball".

Sad, isn't it ... :nono:

We don't think that you steal idea of game from Lords3...I think that you inspire from this tittle and polish this idea. Or rather from previous games of Lords series..Thanks to this fact KoH looks different than Lords3...And better than it!!
Unoficially many of players considers KoH like succesor of Lords3 series...But i think that this is very good point to KoH. In that fact many strategists pay attention on this tittle and places hopes that KoH will be game, which they wait for looong years... I'm sure that many of them will buy it thanks to it.
KoH isn't Lords3, but with many possibilities of managing, trading, fighting, spying, diplomacy....... this is game which will give us true feeling of rule's power... Not only when everything going to battle in 3D engine...
All of us are see a similalarities to Lords series ;) Our discussion IMO depends on comparing of games, not declaring which of those games will be better. All of us have different opinion about KoH and Lords3, but some of options are almost the same. For example:

1) Both of games are RTS
2)Both of games have knights/vassal management (IMO most important similarity)
3)Time does not stop, when battle occurs (not like in Imperium Galactica II for example, where when battle occurs time on galactic map is stopped)
4)We have possibility to build our own castles
5)Possibility to jump between the battles (In KoH only one possibility to lead them unfortunatelly) and eventually lead them or give lead to computer commander.
5)Both of games set in medieval times

Well, maybye both of games have more similarities - I don't see it at this moment...But you should understand, that we have some right when we compare this games... We don't compare KoH and Warcraft at all!!

well,... i was on the homepage of that game,.. 1st look: real nicd
2nd look: senseless

why? only 4 pics from the game,... to other videos, trailers and demos "coming soon" it looks like, that it goes in the direcetion of castle strike,.. but there i can say that castke strike looks lot better. but i am not so interested in castle strike cause

1. the story is a lot of fictiv
2. the mapsize is local

so i prefer knights of honor

1. it is more historical (without getting a boring history lesson)
2. the map is worldsize (ok,... for medieval parameters ;))

and of course it looks awsome and all that stuff :D
