hey cro knight, he wasn't "tellin you off" he's simply pointin out, if ya dont like the game, then sell it n get something else! no need to keep to forums telling us how crap you think it is, cos we all quite like the game, despite some improvements here n there.
hey, guys. Come on and calm down. Any kind of flaming is not necessary here. Especially if it is about number of posts!!!(@Cro Knight!!) I think it's easily possible to express your opinionm without offending anybody. If not, please keep it for yourself. Thanks.
so please come back on-topic...

If this game is so bad, why did you bother getting the game, and even more astoundingly, why are you still lurking its forum?
Wow, quoting yourself is weird....
Yeah, I didn't mean to offend you with the above post. I was just wondering why you would continue to participate in a forum if you hated the game (and the forum) so much. Did you initially like the game when it first came out? And do you still feel that there's a possibility of improvement?
Sorry again, Cro. (Edit: Us Canadians have to stick together!)

I think this game is great,I haven't played MTW or RTW but one of my co-workers dose. But Being an American..not a yank..born in the south thankyou,I would have to say I do like the way this is played out I kinda wish that there was a date and time line to see where you would be in history, but other than that I am very happy with this game.I just spend many hours at night working on my mighty hungarian empire. And Largefry, you forgot one thing,I beleave brit was beaten by a bunch of colonist,so we did pick a fight with brit and won not beaten :bday:

ok, now I remember what I wanted to say!!
if ya add a timeline to this game, u would need to add more of a technology tree, which wouldn't be a bad thing! but then u would get more into the realm of Age of Empires. and this game is a simple RTS based on a few historical cultures, I get the idea it was never meant to be that involved in the strategy side of gamin, more in the meglomania/god game area.

Ya I knew we beat the Brits twice. But we didn't conquor them. There was still a Great Britian at the end of both wars.
I would have to oppose a timeline. If you think it through would it be nice to have medievel techonlogy in 2000? No. Even if there was a tech tree that would update your kingdom, the game would be a completely new game. Having to deal with the invention of the airplane and advance naval ships. So no to a timeline.

you beat UK twice?? independance war was IT!! the ONE time! and besides, u forget, most of the colonists were english!! :P so basically, it was another civil war for us, and the crap left over form the americans. there!
and for the timeline, am not really for it either, however I think ya kings should last longer in the game, cos at the rate ya get through them you would be like in 19th in an hour! still with sword n shield!
stay ontopic!!!
or this thread is gonna be reported

What about if it was more like a family tree showing your linerage, from starting king to current? And I wouldn't mind seeing the age of my king, just so I can see how old he realy is.

I like how kings age. However I would like them to live a bit longer and be able to have more childern than they do. Also a family tree needs to be in place. Also the king really should really try to have more childern. That is one of the most important thing that a king could do is to have an heir.
@ Richard: The war of 1812 was the second time we beat the Brits.

back on topic people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :whip:
@Richard. I'm totally on your side, btw. the revolution was just a colonial civil war. The first true England vs America war was the one of 1812, in which America got whooped then sued for peace. We did win a few battles though. Mainly Baltimore, Eerie, and... that's all I can remember. We also didn't "bail out" the British in WW2, they bailed us out by holding the Germans off like a bunch of bloody paratroopers in Bastonge.
Ya'll might speak a weird form of English, but yall are good fighters. ;)
 lads.

I'm from South America so I ain't sayin anythin' about the above ----
Anyways, i was thinkin if there was a new patch comming out (hope ther is) it would be great if there was like an option menu about enableing special unique military units for specific civs... (like teut knights for the teutonic order.. longbowman for the english... feudal knighs for franks... Cataphracts for the byz...) or mayb could be included in the koh2 i've been hearing about..

Above your king you'd have an icon to under which you could see all your previous kings and their wives(+kingdoms they came from)

France has man-at-arms and Feudal knights, Wales Longbowmen(England doesn't, because longbowmen were wlesh, not english "unit")
Scotland has highlanders
TO has teutonic knights, Ottomans have Janissares
Byzantia has cataphracts, roman infantry and pronias
and so on...

Thank you Sir Turylon, for those very true words.(off topic)
The British do have special units as do all countries, but the use of mercenaries Is a little off putting.
Would like to keep the mercenaries real to the countries that used them, and not as It is at the moment.
'I to', feel the Kings age to quickly.
The resources In Each province to should be looked at, the basic comodities were around in all provinces,Hunting/Hide's.Fishing/rivers, mineing/stone, etc.

I know that since I been playing the hungairan kingdom,I get to start with men-at-arms,and archery horses..which seem to help out a bit, just hate those teutonic knights from rebel armies that come from the north.Ands too see where kings family came from would be great this way I would have incest, marrying my family to the same family menebers.Cause sometimes there isn't any princess to marry to exceppt to a country you have already a kin to,even though that did happen in mid-evil times just my 2 cents on it

I find rebel armies to be quit useful for the traning of my troops and marshalls. You can see if a brodering prov. is in rebelion from the politacal view. Since the AI doesn't deal with the rebels that mush, I send in my army (usaual of fast calvery) to put down the rebel in that prov. The battle is usally almost won at the begining b/c you are fighting peasants with heavy calvery. This does get your troops to have experience and fro your marshall to gain some more skill during peacetime.
