Ahh you are problly refering to famous rebels. Those are a bit tougher to get ride of, but with my experience with them is that they only plunder one or two of my villages then go off into another country.

talking about the family tree, how come, wen one of your heirs becomes king the brothers vanish! y the oldest king dies it should fall to the next brother unless the oldest one had children of its own, princes dont just dissappear!

I think this game is great, it has much to be desired but its also well made and polished. I believe having a family is a step forward in the right direction. While a few games did this in the past, many after seem to have left it out which is a shame since it was such an intricate part of medieval society.
As for the rest of the threads...I have met more Americans in the MANY games I have played that I dont like than british but thats because Americans make up the vast majority of gamers, especially online gamers. Without the american gaming industry there would be a complete lack of a market to produce high quality games in any country except maybe Japan where anime is still king.
The thing that gets me is why are so many brits so anti american? Or aside from that, so up on themselves? I can recall having this same conversation with handfulls of other brits who think their on a tier above others, and can't recall any of the hundreds of german players ever acting in such a lowly fashion. Maybe its a chemical imbalance from listening to elton john and the spice girls, or too much fish? Or maybe too many of you are just too thick headed to listen to anything other than some pompous media reporter with nothing on their mind other than tv ratings and if anti american stories sell, then by all means keep making them, just dont expect every person from every other country to listen to or care about any of them.

I have to agree with richardthelionheart, what does happen to the other family members, unless you put them ina knight's role they vanish, and hwy can't a queen rule while the young price is still a baby,I had one instance where my king died but ad a son still in his baby years and it wnet straight to on of my marshalls.

I think that most of the gamers here think that the queen should be able to rule. But to add on that she can die before a king too. The king could than remarry and have another queen. But I think that if the king dies the queen can not be remarried. Also I think that there should be dukes and lords and distant relatives that can claim the throne if there is no prince. Of course many dukes and lords would claim the throne and throwing your empire into a massive revolt. Maybe I'm getting a little to ahead of myself but I think the gaem would benfit if the queen could rule.
[off topic] Maybe someone should make a thread in the inn about this Amer-Brit part of the thread.

I think that'd be a gd idea, queens would have taken over in real life, however, the lords n earls part would make the game to open, the codin wud be hell for one, and this wud make the game too long winded, but I think takin knights is a bit silly! cos in real life they wouldn't, if anything the knights would revolt n try and seizes counties for themselves.
n i think the american brit issue has come to an end, unless there are any yanks who wish to drag it out, cos I sure as hell cant be ar*ed with it nemore!

I could be wrong, but I don't think it was commonplace for a queen to take rule of a kingdom (incidentally, would it be called a "queendom" if they did?).

Until recently there was no queen in any western kingdom. England is the first and only western Monarchy that allowed a queen to rule (temporarily), which is a consequence of parlamentarian monarchy that is not included in KoH...
So ruling queens have no place in KoH.
But as always, correct me if I'm wrong. :go:

Well of course Isabella of Spain ruled for quite a while after her husband Ferdinand died.

you should know your history better to know that there was no ruling queen in middle ages
Elisabeth was the first and when it was? 16th century... correct me if I'm wrong
the same abuot other european countries - there was no Queen to rule officially. Only in Georgia, queen Tamar in 11th or 12th century. Neither Eleanor of Aquitaine was oficial ruler.. she just carried the title for her sons and then governed her lands as the highes authority, but oficial rulers were Richard and then John
