- The AI will now tend to forge bigger alliances and stick with them. In my longest testing game (6 hours at gamespeed 4.0) I saw a continuous alliance of Byzantia, Kazan, Hungary and Kiev spreading over 43 provinces, each in alliance with every member. The alliance lasted well over 5 hours (I didn't look during the first hour)

Yikes! Right now im playing as holy roman empire, and if I declare war on one guy, he calls on 1 or 2 of his allies, who then turn to 1 or 2 of there allies, and so on until all of europe is at war with me! If they are even more honorful, im dead .
@Elvain really we were talking about glory of god, just about why normans were in sicily.

@Da Bomb: Yes, the AI-kingdoms have to pay the exact same amount of money.
And about the feudal knight statement... You asked why one squad of feudal knights is more expensive than a marshall ("knight" was you word). When the marshall dies in battle the battle is lost. While when a squad of feudal knights is killed the battle is not lost. That's a big advantage, in my opinion.

o. yes that makes sense now. Thanks again!
When can we expect the 1.6?

Regarding Kingdom Power: Not sure if this is already implemented via the GoG mod or the original game (but I don't think I've seen it): I was thinking it would be appropriate to receive a boost in Kingdom Power when you re-unite a kingdom. Angryminer's thoughts on Kingdom Power prompted the thought -- re-uniting a kingdom would delight many of the native patriots giving you a boost in popularity. Just an idea - if it doesn't already exist, do you think it could be modded?

Having trouble making a Sculptor's Guild. I have a marble quarry built, but I cannot even find the building, greyed out or otherwise! Columns are available, however.

Upgrade the Stonemason to the Scultor's Guild using the little upgrade-button in the Stonemason-icon on the left side. :go:
About a release-date: I usually tinker around my KoH until I feel "Well, that's nice!" Then I play a while, remove errors, play some more and when I don't have the urgent need of editing something I release the new version. Due to this the release-date is determined by two factors:
1. My personal feeling wether the mod is "complete" or not.
2. My amount of spare time I spend with modding KoH.

I had not yet made a stonemason, so I had not realized that there was an upgrade option now! Thanks!

Have fun playing, Freyland! :go:
Today I tested some more. In nearly 3 hours at gamespeed 10.0 the AI did very well. About all kingdoms were rather stable, though the game wasn't boring. Byzantia managed to survive all 3 hours (at gamespeed 10!!) with constantly over 17 provinces. But Germany was killed by a polish-lithuanian-hungarian alliance.
I removed a last bug about the peasants, now they are really gone. I also tinkered around with the unit stats and made the units' stats reflect their description more.
Expect a release tomorrow...

Good news :bday: But so there are less wars? Ofcourse this doesnt mean a bad thing!

No, there are still many wars, but they are shorter in duration. That helps keeping rebels at bay (fewer far-exhaustion) and thus fewer rebel-kingdoms.

I was wondering, I've only experienced one reuniting and it was with Highlands becoming Scotland.
1. How do you reunite?
2. It happened to me only in the early ages (the earliest time) and is that the only option?
3. Can the human player do it?
4. Which countries/areas or can all areas do it?
Thanks! (probably to AngryMiner in advance.)

1. Kingdoms are reunited by uniting a specific area under your rule and sometimes destroying specific competitive kingdoms. Note: Only specific kingdoms can unite other kingdoms. For example Ulster can not reunite Spain and change the name.
2. There are several more, for each period.
3. Yes!
4. Almohads, Aragon, Bulgaria, Burgundy, Byzantia, England, France, Germany, Golden Horde, Holy Roman Empire, Ireland, Italy, Ottomans, Russia, Scotland, Serbia and Spain can be reunited in Glory of God (I've got the list from .../Knights of Honor/defs/Quests/). Some of these reunite-quests were created by Elvain. A lot of thanks to him. :go:

What do you mean reunite? How?

Reunite is where if you destroy the right kingdoms, and conquer the right provences, and somtimes some other stuff, you have the option of remaking a kingdom. For example, yesterday playing as holy roman empire I reunited rome. It changes the title of your rulers, the name of your country, and I think, the color of your banner.
Is there a list of the countries that reunite, the country they reunite to, and what period they can reunite?

Got the game Friday. Already it is clear that the vanilla game needs help. I am going to try 1.6 as soon as Angry puts it out.
A question for you history buffs about removing peasants from the game...this seems to not only be a good idea for improving difficulty but also historically realistic. My limited understanding of the feudal system suggests to me that peasants worked the land and the warrior class faught and there was very little mixing of the two. I did not think that even militias were common by the High Middle Ages (since they were an urban phenomenon and society was overwhelmingly rural) so it was all about the knights and mercenaries. This time period is not my specialty, however.
I am not trying to get this thread off-topic, but rather to suggest that GoG might actually be more historically accurate than vanilla.
Im waiting impantienly for 1.6 :hello:

I just mailed GoG 1.6 to Gen Suvorov. It may appear anytime on his download-page. Then I will create a seperate thread for GoG 1.6.
